4 Shoe Trends I’m Loving For Summer

Veja V 10 sneakers

This year I really wanted to keep my summer shoe purchases to a minimum. In the past I would buy anything I thought was cute, accumulate all these shoes, and only wear a couple the entire season. After studying my habits, I really made the extra effort to consciously think about my purchases this year – I would wait a little bit instead of making impulse purchases, I would research similar styles to compare price and quality, then I would make sure I could wear them with multiple outfits, and then decide if they made the cut. Today, I’m sharing the 4 summer shoe trends I’m loving and why.

Anine Bing Tee xs (sold out, similar), Zara leather jacket xs (old, similar), Halogen skirt petite xxs (sold out, similar), Veja V-10 Sneakers 4 (size down a full size), Staud bag (slightly different tan), Quay sunglasses

1. Veja Sneakers – While Golden Goose sneakers are having their moment, Veja is a great alternative and affordable option that are on the rise thanks to many European bloggers. I love the minimal style and overall European vibe that they have. I’m a sucker for all white sneakers, but I love the little dash of black detail in these. The tongue on these run a bit long, so it takes some getting used to (as it rubs your skin), but I haven’t found them to be uncomfortable per se (although I haven’t walked miles in these yet). I had to go down a full size in these. These come in different styles and color combinations.

2. Barely There Heeled Sandals – I absolutely love this trend and I hope it’s here to stay. To me these heels are the perfect shoe to dress up just about any outfit. The shorter heel makes them wearable and practical and the style is very petite-friendly (not chunky and overwhelming). These look great with dresses, midi skirts, wide legged or straight legged jeans. I returned these because I needed to size up a half size (which I would recommend for everyone).

3. Barely There Flat Sandals  – Another flattering sandal for petites. These really elongate your legs as the minimal style has that barely there look. They’ve been comfortable right out of the box. I received questions about the comfort level of the toe strap and I haven’t had any issues. I’m really tempted to get these in nude… although I’m trying not to go overboard with summer shoes, lol. These are also super affordable!

4. Vinyl Sandals – I was hesitant about this trend up until maybe 2 weeks ago. I thought there was no way the vinyl could be comfortable, but I was wrong. These Schutz heels are absolutely stunning and comfortable. I read rave reviews about the comfort level, but I didn’t believe it because they have a 4″ heel, but they really are comfortable. I was initially intrigued with the vinyl because hello legs for days and yes, they’re so flattering!
