As I’m sure you’re aware, I stick to a mostly neutral color scheme year round. For me, it’s timeless, versatile, and makes getting dressed everyday easy. I want to be able to expand my wardrobe as far a possible, get the most wear out of my clothes, so sticking to a colorless closet makes sense. I do love seasonal styles, but I just like them in a more subtle way. Plaid is one of my favorite prints during the holidays, but rather than reach for bright and bold pieces, I tend to wear things that work seamlessly with my neutral wardrobe (think black, cream, tan, beige, navy, brown, gray, etc.). One of the easiest ways to incorporate a little plaid in your outfit is by throwing on a scarf. Whether you use it as a pop of color or print, or even go neutral for a monochromatic look, scarves are a fun way to show a little more personality. This scarf from Sole Society is one of my more colorful scarves (it’s even more bold against this all black outfit). It’s festive and fun, but still works with a lot of pieces in my closet (love it with gray as well).

If you like plaid, but you’re not sure how to make it work in your neutral wardrobe, try experimenting with scarves. They’re a ton of fun, neutral options out right now that will work great with your wardrobe.
