Dressing Room Diaries

I’m back with another round of Dressing Room Diaries! I didn’t find a ton of cute options in-store this time around, but I ended up finding a pair of jeans I love and going home with this off the shoulder top, these sleep shorts, and these super fun pink shorts. I was able to try-on a wishlist item, but was super bummed they didn’t have my size :(. As always, let me know if you want to see me try on any particular style or brand.

AG Brynn High-Rise Shorts (24) – I’m in the market for a new pair of denim shorts and these definitely have potential. I loved the high-waist, roomy fit and the dark wash was super flattering. I don’t know about you, but I hate super tight denim shorts, so these are a great option if you’re looking for something that’s fitted, but still loose in all the right places. The denim is also super soft, which is why I’ve always loved AG. AG jeans/shorts are always comfortable and soft (and run TTS). I didn’t end up buying these, but only because I haven’t tried enough options yet. They’re a contender for sure, though.

ASTR the Label Romper (xs) – Anytime I see a dress or romper in a neutral color like this, I have to try it on. A lot of spring and summer options tend to be very colorful and loud, so I can appreciate a more subtle neutral piece. The crochet and ruffle details help elevate this romper, but the waist to bottom hem seems a little long and weird. It may have something to do with my long torso (which is something you always have to think about with rompers and jumpsuits). The xs fit really well, so I would definitely say it runs TTS. Nude doesn’t always look great on everyone’s skin tone, but I think a nice tan would really make it pop.

AG The Stilt Crop Jeans (25) – I was immediately drawn to the wash, distressing, and shorter length. Sadly, they didn’t have my size, but I decided to try on the 25 for reference. I was surprised at how much I loved these jeans. They hit right at the ankle on me, which I actually didn’t mind. The wash is absolute perfection and they’re so ridiculously comfortable. Maybe even the most comfortable pair of jeans I’ve put on. In the past I never really liked the Stilt Crop because they don’t have a tapered ankle. It’s like they’re skinny jeans around the thigh and then go straight down below the knee. Since this more straight style is all the rage right now, I can easily see me wearing them with all my loafers and sandals. The only downside of these jeans, the rips land just below my knees. With that being said, I love these jeans so much, I’m willing to ignore it. I’m going to order these in my size online and I will report back.

Current Elliott tank 1

Current/Elliott Lace Top (0) – I’m not a big tank kinda girl, but this one caught my eye and I figure there’s probably many of you that enjoy a cute lace tank in the summer. This one is super lightweight and easy to wear. The 0 fit pretty well (arms, length), but the neckline came down low. I had to keep pulling it up for these photos, so you probably can’t tell how low it comes down. I’m not big on cleavage, so even the slightest boob shot, freaks me out. The nice thing about tanks, you can wear them alone or use it as a cami under sweaters and jackets. So, although this one is a bit pricey, think about the cost per wear.

Current/ Elliott The Stiletto Destroyed Skinny Jeans (24) – Another pair of jeans that caught my eye because of the wash and distressing. The 24 fit really well in the waist and thighs and the rips even landed in the correct spots. They did run a little long (as expected), but as you can see in the photos I rolled them under to give you a better idea. Tight, light wash jeans aren’t typically flattering on me, so I was a little hesitant with these. Also, they’re super low rise, which I’m not really a fan of anymore. I can’t have my butt crack hanging out every 5 seconds, you know? But if you don’t mind a low rise jeans, these are a great light was option. They remind me of the super popular AG legging jeans everyone has.

Rag & Bone Winnie shorts 1

Rag & Bone Denim Shorts (24) – Rag & Bone always has the best denim shorts and I was immediately drawn to the distressing and wash on these. They run TTS, but they’re a little too short for me. I think the older I get the more I’m gravitating toward longer shorts. No more butt hanging out. These were also a little too tight for my liking when it comes to shorts. I like them to be roomy and comfortable, even if I have to go up a size. Beautiful wash and distressing, just wish they were longer. And definitely don’t fit like it appears on the model. At least not on me…

Sun & Shadow blouse 1

Sun & Shadow Blouse (xxs) – This very bohemian, flowy blouse is an affordable option to wear with denim cut offs during the summer. The xxs fit everywhere but the sleeves (ran long). It does run slightly short, so you don’t’ have a lot of material to play with when tucking into pants or shorts. It’s also slightly sheer, but you shouldn’t have any issues when wearing a nude bra.

Topshop ruffle sleeve top 1

Topshop Ruffle Sleeve Top (US 2) – This top is super simple and cute, but just know the sleeves are fairly large. I think if it came in petite sizes, the sleeves would have better proportions. With that being said, for anyone taller than 5’4”, these large sleeves may work perfectly. Think basic tee with eyelet ruffle sleeves. A lot of times people are worried about white tops being sheer, this one isn’t. I would even say it’s on the thicker side and slightly boxy. If you’re looking for a cute twist to your basic tee, this is a great option.

Pleione Eyelet Top (xs) – I saw this top on a model on Nordstrom’s website a couple weeks ago, but wasn’t able to find it on the site to purchase. When I spotted it in-store, I had to try it on. Unfortunately, the xs was huge. I’m a huge fan of eyelet, so obviously, I adore this top. It’s quite thick, but nothing too crazy. After searching for this top for this post, I noticed it does come in petite sizes. With that being said, the top seems like it runs large in general, so I would recommend sizing down. It also comes in black and orange.

Madewell pink shorts 1
Madewell pink shorts 2

Madewell Colorblock Shorts (xs) – I spotted these and was immediately drawn to the dark rose and gray color combination. They’re obviously very 80’s, so I know they won’t be for everyone. They happen to fit right in with all my athleisure wear, so I ended up getting them in an xs (sized up one size). They’re great to lounge around in and pair well with gray and white. They’re super soft and hit at a great length to be appropriate to wear out in public.

Chelsea 28 tiered dress 1

Chelsea28 Tiered Dress (xs) – I wouldn’t normally gravitate toward a dress like this, but it just seemed so fun on the rack. The straps are not adjustable, so I was worried they would slip right off me, but they were perfect. The length of the dress runs slightly long on me, but anyone taller than 5’2” should be fine. I could easily see this dress dressed up with heels for a summer occasion. Super cute and runs TTS.

Madewell striped shorts 2
Madewell striped shorts 3

Madewell Side-Tie Shorts (xxs) – I’ve been all about striped shorts lately, so these immediately caught my eye in-store. They definitely look a lot better in-person, btw. Love the little side-tie detail. My only issue was the super tight waist band. It’s stretchy, but tight at the same time. I can see it getting annoying throughout the day. These also run longer, which I happen to like.

Madewell ruffle skirt 1
Madewell ruffle skirt 2

Madewell Ruffled Hem skirt (00) – How adorable is this skirt? I’ve seen these ruffled wrap skirts popping up everywhere and this one runs TTS. The soft blue is a great neutral to wear with white and tan and the length is short enough, but comfortable (if that makes sense). I didn’t love the way it didn’t lay flat in the front, so I didn’t end up getting it. But on the other hand, I may have tied it incorrectly, lol.

Madewell striped off the shoulder top 1
Madewell striped off the shoulder top 2

Madewell Striped Off the Shoulder Top (xxs) – I had been eyeing this top ever since it landed on Madewell’s site. When I grabbed it off the rack it seemed super thick and stiff. Thankfully, I tried it on because it’s actually extremely comfortable and stretchy. I went with my normal size and would say it runs TTS. I love the cinched ties in the front, too. I haven’t worn this top yet, but it did seem like the sleeves stayed down while moving around. I will be wearing this to death this summer.

Anthropologie Peplum Denim Jacket (xs petite) – This jacket had been on my wishlist, but my size has been sold out online ever since it came out. I found it in-store in a petite xs, so unfortunately, it was still too big (I’m normally a petite xxs at Anthro). Everything about this jacket is adorable. The flare sleeves, the frayed hem, and the bright white color. I may have to stock a couple stores to see if anyone has my size. If you’re into this sort of thing, I would 1000 x recommend it. Runs TTS. *The dress in this post is also Anthro, but I can’t find it online anymore. I’m wearing a petite xs (sized up one size) and it’s absolutely adorable and super comfortable. It comes with a slip as well.

Anthropologie striped blouse 1

Anthropologie Striped Henley (xxs petite) – I can never pass up a striped blouse and this one is super lightweight and easy to wear. It’s fairly sheer, but the material is so soft and flowy, it’s perfect for those hot, hot summer days. It’s more cropped in the front with a longer hem in the back. I almost think I could have gotten away with going with a regular xxs,  just so there would be more material to work with to tuck into jeans or shorts. It’s had to tell how cute this top is from these photos. The stripes are so small you can’t really see them in photos. Definitely cuter in-person.

Anthropologie sleep shorts 1
Anthropologie sleep shorts 2

Anthropologie Sleep Shorts (xs) – Spotted these sleep shorts in the sale section. They’re super soft cotton with a drawstring waist. I love the soft color and the plaid pattern. This was the smallest size they had, but since they’re just pj’s, running slightly big didn’t bother me. I wouldn’t say these are extra special or anything, but I just needed a pair of cute lounge shorts. They are on sale, though!
