Engagement Photos

Photos by Christine Sargologos

I’m finally getting around to sharing our engagement photos, yay! Other than a couple mishaps (my hair going flat being one of them), the day was amazing. Mike and I were fortunate in that we’ve been shooting with Christine for over a year, so it takes most of the awkwardness out of the situation (I say most because it’s all still very un-natural). We picked locations that were beautiful, open, and well lit, so they would compliment our outfits as well not take the focus off of us. I knew I wanted the city of San Francisco to somehow be apart of our photos. Mike and I took our relationship to the next level when he moved to the city in 2010 to come live with me. Living in our tiny apartment in Pacific Heights was where we became the best of friends and could really see our future together. So, it made sense to include the romantic city that holds a special part in our hearts.

As far as the looks, everything was color coordinated down to Lola’s harness. Since, these photos are so intimate and redundant (in a good way), it’s all about creating beautiful details with color combos, textures, and prints. Also, I wanted both our outfits to be timeless and classic, so that when we look back at these 10 years from now, I won’t be like, “what the hell were we wearing.” Although, I was completely stressed about the looks pre-engagement session, everything came out beautifully and it was all worth it!

Christine did an absolute wonderful job and I can’t wait to see her work her magic on our wedding day!
