My Go-To Pregnancy Pieces

J.Crew Wool coat with faux fur hood

I’ve received so many messages asking for my go-to pregnancy pieces and I’m happy to finally share them. I tried to keep my maternity purchases to a minimum, so my list is a mix of maternity and regular items that worked for my pregnancy. Other than bottoms, thankfully, I was able to wear a lot of the items that were already in my closet. I also stopped getting dressed around the 8th month. I would hang out at home in the same loungewear and if I had to get out of the house, I literally wore the same leggings, sneakers, sweatshirt, and coat (all of which was so not blog worthy, lol).

BTW, for those asking about maternity-friendly coats, I didn’t buy any outerwear for my pregnancy. I didn’t want to invest the money in something I was only going to wear for a couple months. I wore what I had and didn’t zip or button up the coat. Thankfully, I could add a scarf and beanie and for the most part was warm enough. If you’re in the market for affordable maternity coats, I would check out Asos!

Also, in terms of jeans. I invested in pricier brands, but if you’re looking for more affordable options, I would check out Madewell and Asos. I ended up getting a pair from both retailers, but didn’t end up wearing them as much. Definitely affordable, but the quality is not as nice and comfortable as some of the higher end brands.

Ingrid & Isabel Maternity Leggings Size 1

You’ve heard me rave about these a ton, so I will keep this short and sweet. Hands down, my most used maternity item I bought. I actually have 3 pairs! They’re quite thin and the material is nylon like, but I happen to like the material. They’re breathable and super comfortable.

Gap T-Shirt Bra

I ended up getting this bra in several different sizes throughout my pregnancy. For me, it’s the most basic, softest, and comfortable bra I’ve tried. I wear these normally, so it just made sense to continue wearing them. I’m all for the most coverage, and this style does a good job in holding everything in.

Hatch Leggings Size 0

I bought these as an alternative to my Ingrid & Isabel leggings. These are thick and worked perfectly once it got cold. What I love so much about these, they look and feel like regular leggings. You’ll be able to wear these post-pregnancy and nobody will even know they’re maternity. The length runs a little long on me, but I ended up rolling the excess material. I would recommend sizing up as the wasit did feel pretty snug towards the end of my pregnancy.

DL1961 Maternity Emma Jeans Size 24

I knew I had to invest in maternity jeans because let’s face it, as much as I wanted to live in leggings, I had to change it up. I wore these jeans a ton. I would recommend taking your normal, pre-pregnancy size or sizing up if you want a little more room. I was able to wear these throughout my entire pregnancy. If you’re looking for one pair of maternity jeans, I would highly recommend going with side panels and a skinny style like these.

DL1961 Maternity Straight Cropped Jeans Size 24

I wanted a pair of jeans I could wear with ankle booties, so ended up getting this straight style from DL1961. They’re ridiculously comfy. I went with my normal size, but I will say they run slightly large. The length was long, so I ended up cutting the hems. If you’re not a fan of tight skinny jeans, these are a great alternative.

Paige Verdugo Skinny Jeans Size 24

Black jeans are my go-to, so I knew I had to invest in a pair. I went back and forth on several different brands and ended up getting these from Paige. The leg opening is a little larger than I normally like, but from what was out there at the time, these fit best. I was able to wear these throughout my entire pregnancy and also went with my normal pre-pregnancy size.  Rag & Bone actually just came out with distressed black jeans. I so wish they had these when I was looking. Rag & Bone is my favorite, so if you’re pregnant and looking for black jeans, I would recommend checking them out!

Gap Striped Legging / Lounge Pants

Unfortunately, I can’t find these online anymore, but they may be the MVP’s of my pregnancy and postpartum life. I own 3 pairs and they’re the most comfortable things on the planet. The waistband is not tight, which is why they work. They’re super soft and tapered on the legs, making them super flattering. In general, Gap has the best loungewear. If you’re pregnant, I would highly recommend trying every legging / pant they sell.

Forever 21 Leggings xs

I lived in Forever 21 leggings while lounging around at home. I bought these years ago, so I don’t know if the ones I linked to are exactly the same. Mine are very thin, but that also makes them stretchy. I don’t know how my normal size, xs, fit throughout my pregnancy, but that goes to show the quality of F21, lol. Regardless, I would recommend stocking up on comfy black high waisted leggings. They’re nice to lounge around in without looking like you’re in your pajamas 24/7. I would wear these when people came over, to walk the dogs, or anytime I was home. The only reason I didn’t go out in public in these, they’re slightly see-through.

Abercrombie & Fitch Dresses Petite xs

I lived in A&F dresses during my pregnancy. When the weather was still warm, their tank and tee shirt dresses worked perfectly and during the fall I wore several of their sweater dresses. I’m obsessed with their petite fit and they’re super affordable prices. A lot of times you can find A&F stuff on sale, so be on the lookout.

Koral Activewear Lustrous Maternity Leggings xs

These leggings are so chic and slimming! The over-the-bump band is actually super comfortable and does a good job in supporting the belly. I will a 1000% wear these moving forward. I’ll just roll the waistband down.

Gap Vintage Wash Crew Neck Tees small

My tee shirts started to become way too small, so I actually bought a handful of these early on in pregnancy. These were quite long on me, so they were perfect as my belly grew over the months.

Nike Huarache Sneakers 5

The most comfortable sneakers, ever! I wore these nearly every day of my pregnancy.
