Madewell Denim

I’ve been on a mission as of late to find all the cropped flare denim out there. I have plenty, but for some reason I continue to search. Maybe, I haven’t found the perfect pair yet? I’ve recently become addicted to Madewell jeans. Ever since they started carrying size 23, I’ve been stalking their site to check out new styles. The price point alone keeps me coming back. Have you tried Madewell denim? They’re on the thinner side, but are super stretchy and comfortable. The only reason I don’t have every pair, all their jeans run really long, so I end up having to cut them (which, is probably a sign not to buy them lol).

Madewell white cropped flare jeans

S H O P  T H E  P O S T :

I was at Madewell last month and one of the sales associates was wearing the white cali-demi boot jeans and I fell in love. They looked amazing on her and from the looks of it, she didn’t seem too much taller than me (she did tell me she cut about an 1” off the length). They didn’t have my size in-store, so we ended up ordering a pair from another store. Once they arrived, I knew I had to shorten the length. The rips also don’t land exactly on my knees, but for this short girl, that’s never a deal breaker. The fit alone had me sold. Although the rise was higher than I thought, the 23 fit like a glove. Best part, and something you normally have to worry about with white jeans, they’re not see-through! I am bummed that my DIY hem made the flare not as noticeable, but I’ll live.

I also bought the 9” high-rise black skinny jeans in a size 23 (knowing I would need to cut some length off). I thought they were super flattering when I tried them on in-store and even when I wear them. However, I don’t think they photograph as well (wah, wah). The rips land on my knees, which is always a bonus, and they’re so ridiculously comfortable. I think the fact that they’re not as tight on my calves and ankles is where they’re throwing me off.

Last weekend I tried on the 9” high-rise skinny crop jeans (seen here). The cropped length hit at my ankle, but since it wasn’t very tapered, they weren’t flattering (keep in mind I was trying on a size up since they didn’t have my size in-store). For anyone interested in these, they’re darker in-person than they appear online.

And lastly, the cali-demi boot with the chewed-hem. I saw the same sales associate from above in these and again, they looked amazing on her. She said they ran shorter than the white cali-demi boot jeans, so they may be perfect for us petites. I’m debating whether or not I should order them. The wash is perfect for spring the I’m digging the exposed buttons. I don’t want to have to cut up another pair of jeans… maybe I should order them, and if they’re too long, I can show some restraint and just return them lol. I’m a crazy denim hoarder, though…

Hey Madewell, you have regular and tall denim sizes, maybe you should start carrying short or petite? Just a thought…
