This Month’s Favorites: January

I’m so excited to kick off another new series! Every month I will share 5 of my favorite things, products, activities, etc. Whatever I’m loving, I’m going to give you all the details. Some favorites never make it to the blog (a workout, book, beauty product, cooking product, etc.), so this is a good way to share them. Obviously, we’re no longer in the January, but last month’s favorites were SO good, I couldn’t keep them from you. So, I’ll be sharing 10 favorites this month (I will do a Favorites for February later this month), but going forward it will be a monthly series.

Juice Beauty Anti-Wrinkle Serums – I was sent a little package from Juice Beauty a couple weeks ago. I didn’t know a ton about them, but organic skincare is always a good idea, so I was pretty excited. Mike and I both started using the anti-wrinkle booster serum and anti-wrinkle eye treatment and fell in love. We don’t use a ton of skin care products (our routine is very basic), but I’ve been meaning to start treating my skin better. I’m getting older, so some TLC is a must. We’ve only been using it for a week, so I’m not sure how it’s doing with wrinkles (yet), but I do know it’s making my skin look so much better. Super hydrated and helping to even out my skin tone. I’m such a huge proponent of organic and clean ingredients, so I’m a big fan. I have a couple makeup products to try still, but I’m already looking through the website for more products. Best part, everything seems reasonably priced.

Andy Cohen Superficial book

Superficial by Andy Cohen – One thing you may not know about me, I’m a huge Andy Cohen fan. I’ve watched nearly everything on Bravo and have his WWHL show DVR’d (I think we’re at 30 shows recorded right now). He’s over the top, but seems so goofy and real. He says things we all want to say, which makes people uncomfortable, but he does it in the most endearing ways. He can do no wrong in my book. Since I’m all about pop culture and reality tv, I tend to read anything related to the topic. I read Most Talkative and loved reading about all his stories with celebrities, etc., so I had to pick up his latest book, Superficial. It’s in diary form, which I don’t love, but it’s an easy fun read. It’s fun to escape your life for an hour a day to read about the ins and outs of celebrity life. He’s also hilarious, so if you’re into this kind of thing, it’s an entertaining read.

Re Done skinny straight jeans

Re/Done Original High Rise Skinny Straight Jeans – A pair of Re/Done jeans had been on my wishlist for awhile. I’ve seen the brand blow up, so I had to see what all the hype was about. I checked their site for sizing. They have a huge sizing guide with a video even, but it was a little too much for me, so I ended up going with my gut. I’ve noticed 100% cotton, no stretch jeans, run small, so I always size up. Sizing up for the Straight Skinny style worked perfectly for the fit I was going for – straight, skinny, with a loose fit all around. They were a bit loose in the waist, but after washing and drying them, the fit is super comfortable and perfect. I knew this pair would run long, so I took scissors to the bottom hem. I’ve talked about this before (here), but enlist another person to help you hold your jeans taught to ensure you cut a straight line. The best part of the jeans, the fit. They’re super flattering on the bum. I absolutely love the wash too. I can see why everyone is obsessing over the brand.

Nike Rally Funnel Neck sweatshirt

Nike Funnel Neck Sweatshirt – I’ve talked about this sweatshirt so much, apologies if you’re sick of it. But, it was/is hands down one of my favorite purchases in 2017 thus far. It’s just so stylish, warm, and comfortable. If you’re going to dress down and be comfortable, you might as well look chic. The large funnel neck is not for everyone, but I happen to LOVE it. I wear either the black or gray sweatshirt at least 6 out of 7 days of the week, either at home or to run errands. Definitely worth investing $60 on a sweatshirt.  It comes in black, gray, green, blue, and a light gray. Runs slightly small in the arms, so you may want to size up.

Maria Pascual crescent moon necklace

Maria Pascual horn necklace –  I haven’t been able to find the perfect crescent moon/horn necklace until now! I had seen Sincerely Jules and Collage Vintage wearing one that I loved, so I did a little research and found it (it may be just a similar one from the same brand). The site is a bit sketchy to order online, but I used Paypal to checkout and it arrived safely. It was actually sent to my local UPS instead of my address, which I’ve never had done before, but didn’t mind. Shipping was really fast, so that was nice. I went with the small version, although may order the large one as well. I love the shape and design of the pendant, but the best part, the chain has several clasp on it, so you can wear it at different lengths.
