Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was full of photoshoots and editing. No joke, I’ve never edited that many photos straight in my entire life. Photographers, I feel for you. In more exciting news, Mike and I made our way up the road to Ryser’s Farm Pumpkin Patch a couple weeks ago. I hadn’t been to a legit pumpkin patch in a couple years. Now that we’re in a house, I felt compelled to get some pumpkins for our front porch. Plus, the fact that there’s a pumpkin patch at a farm just up the road from us is pretty freaking awesome (you have to drive a while in the Bay Area for anything like that). Our whole block already started decorating for Halloween, so we felt a little out of place. We still don’t have decorations, but hey,  a couple pumpkins work, right?

Now that we’ve been living in Oregon for roughly 9 months (a little bit of all 4 seasons), I’ve noticed how insufficient my California wardrobe has been in my new environment. I never really experienced seasons in the Bay Area and I could get away with sandals nearly year-round. Yes, I have a couple boots and coats, but the weather and terrain here is quite different. I’m actually surprised by how many more pieces you need in your wardrobe for each season. I was recently on the hunt for a boot/shoe that I didn’t mind getting dirty, would be comfortable enough to walk around in, but still chic and work well with my closet. When Born x Dillard’s asked to team up, I immediately thought the Garcia bootie would fit the bill. The cognac color works seamlessly with my wardrobe and anytime you mix comfort and a short heel, I’m all in. I’m actually really surprised with how comfortable these are. I walked around the pumpkin patch and then headed to lunch and had no issues (oftentimes, a heeled bootie gets uncomfortable after a while). Since they already have the distressed look, they work perfectly for my outdoor environment (pumpkin patches!). If you’re looking for a comfortable heeled bootie you can wear all day, but don’t want to sacrifice style, I would highly recommend checking these out. If you live in the PNW or just anywhere outdoorsy, these are great!
