Mike and I are getting ready for our first fall in the PNW. While we’re looking forward to so many autumn traditions (we hear fall is beautiful here), I don’t think we’re mentally prepared for the weather. In California the seasons never drastically change, so I think we’re in for a real shock. No joke, last week we went from a day in the high 80’s to the next day with a high of 59 degrees. You should have seen me. I was bundled up as if it was winter or something. My neighbors probably think I’m crazy.  I have a feeling it’s going to feel more like we’re going from summer to winter for me (yikes!). I’ve always really had fall to transition my wardrobe to the next season. Here, you don’t get that time. In a blink of an eye it’s fall and it’s freezing.

Since I’ve been on the hunt for outerwear, I thought I’d share some of my recent finds. I picked up this J.Crew vest and I’m obsessed! It sold out really quick last year, so I made sure to snag it early in the season. I recently ordered this Patagonia fleece. This is my first Patagonia piece ever, so hopefully it doesn’t run too big and will keep me warm. I also have this wool top coat from Banana Republic. Camel coats are hard to find and this one is awesome. The fit is great and it’s pretty heavy, perfect for fall. This puffer coat just made it’s way into my closet as well. I had my eye on it at the end of last winter, but again it was sold out in my size. I’m so excited to see it back this season. It’s lightweight and super soft, but still warm. I love the rose gold details and the petite xs fits perfectly. Puffer coats that fit small frames are pretty hard to find, so if you’re in the market for one, this one is great!

Speaking of petite-friendly outerwear. If you’re small, you know coats and jackets are one of the hardest things to find. I struggle every year. Two brands I tend to lean on, though, are J.Crew and Banana Republic. When it comes to petite sizing that fit TTS, they both kill it. I also recently realized Abercrombie and Fitch fits really well. I stopped in over the weekend and tried on several coats and jackets and was surprised with how well everything fits. They don’t necessarily carry petite sizes, but I think their outerwear just runs small. I have my eye on this shearling denim jacket, this fleece hoodie, and this military parka.

If you have any petite-friendly outerwear you swear by, I’d love to hear about them!
