Sweater Weather: Favorite Sweaters of the Season

Abercrombie-Fitch-beanie

Sweater weather is officially here and I could not be happier! I’ve already probably gone overboard with so many new purchases (oops). Since I know how much you all love your sweaters, today I’m rounding up some of my favorites and most worn pieces to help you with your fall/winter shopping. There’s so many great affordable options out right now, be sure to read all my reviews below.

SHOP SWEATERS

The-Fifth-Label-navy-sweater

The Fifth Label Sculpture Sweater xs

This sweater fits the bump so well (more tight in the stomach area). The material is thick and nice (doesn’t seem like the pilling type). And I just love, love the big sleeves.

Neutral-sweaters

Madewell Inland Turtleneck Sweater xxs

This sweater is my absolute favorite from last year and I’m so excited because they just brought it back in 5 or 6 other colors! I already have it in gray, but I’m looking to get it in hthr prism, hthr amazon, and the donegal version. I love that these are super soft, stretchy, and more lightweight than your typical sweater. They’re nice to wear with a coat and scarf, that way when you go inside, you can take off your coat and scarf and not be overly hot. Those that live in cold climates know what I’m talking about. For reference, I wear an xxs in these sweaters.

J.Crew Factory Sweater Blazer xxs

The J.Crew sweater blazer in camel was on my wishlist, but since the xxs was backordered, I decided to try the J.Crew Factory version. The xxs fits snug (in a good way) around my shoulders, but in general, this blazer runs narrow and long. If you’re small, this is a good thing. But if you have wide shoulders, you may want to size up. The camel color is pretty and from the looks of it, darker than the J.Crew version. The length for me is long for a typical blazer, but it does cover my bum, which is a perk considering I’ve been wearing leggings a lot lately.

Mason-Jules-poncho.jpg

Mason Jules Poncho xs

This is a very petite-friendly poncho. I’m wearing an xs, but I recently saw that it comes in an xxs. The arm length on the model is a little deceiving. Since the arm pit is attached low, the sleeves only go to about your elbow.

Madewell-sweaters

Madewell Woodside Pullover Sweater xxs

The Madewell woodside pullover sweater is super pretty in-person (both the cream and camel). I love the oversized fit and thought the v-neck was a nice change of pace for me. The neck line does run pretty low, so keep that in mind.  These run fairly boxy, which isn’t super flattering on my bump, but I think would drape well post-pregnancy. I ordered the xxs, but these still fit oversized.

SHOP SWEATERS

Madewell-cable-knit-sweater

Madewell cable knit from last year. Similar here and here.

This is my favorite Madewell cable knit sweater from last year. I’ve gotten so much use out of it, it’s the perfect size and color. For those of you looking for a classic cable knit, Madewell just came out with this year’s version. It’s more white than cream and I’m not sure how sizing/fit are since I’ve yet to see it in person yet. The A&F version is another great option as well. I have the oatmeal color and I love the fit and style.

Lovers-Friends-leopard-sweater

Lovers & Friends Leopard Sweater xs (runs big)

This leopard sweater is so soft, thick, and super warm. It does run large. I have the bottom tucked under and then halfway tucked into my jeans. I would size down. There’s also a little shimmer all over, which is hard to tell in the photos.

J.Crew-stripe-turtleneck

J.Crew Stripe Funnel Neck Sweater xxs

This J.Crew stripe funnel neck sweater is one of my favorite sweater purchases to date. It’s a lot thicker than it appears online, but I love that! The xxs fits perfectly, although if you’re looking for a more loose fit, I would size up. I love the navy and cream combination, so classic and easy to wear. I wear a tee shirt under, but I don’t recall it being itchy.

SHOP SWEATERS

J.Crew-Factory-bow-sweater

J.Crew Factory Bow-Neck Sweater xs

This J.Crew Factory is a remake of J.Crew from last year (I think). Super cute for the holidays. It runs more on the shorter side, but not cropped. Comes in gray and cream, although sizes are selling out fast.

Halogen-tie-sleeve-sweater

Halogen Tie-Sleeve Sweater petite xxs (runs large)

This Halogen tie-sleeve sweater is one of your favorite items I’ve featured this fall. It runs large, so I would recommend sizing down. It’s also on the thin and stretchy side. I have the Ann Taylor version (seen below) and that one is way thicker and more structured than this one. I do like the sleeves on this one better.

donegal-northfield-mockneck-sweater

Madewell Donegal Mock Neck Sweater xxs (also here)

I’m such a sucker for speckled gray sweaters. This one is close to perfection. The small mock-neck is perfect and the xxs fits extremely well. My only gripe, it’s a little itchy.

Crystalin-Maries-sweater-collection

Ann Taylor Off the Shoulder Sweater Dress petite xxs

This sweater dress could not be cozier. I’ll talk about it more once that outfit goes live on the blog, but if you’re looking for a great dress to wear for a holiday party or dinner, it’s a great option. Warm and cozy, but still festive at the same time. I LOVE the flare sleeve detail!

SHOP SWEATERS

BP.-shaker-stitch-sweater

BP. Shaker Stitch Sweater xxs

I’ve been on the hunt for petite-friendly sweaters with fun sleeves and this one is close to perfect. The xxs fits nicely everywhere, but the sleeves. They run long, making the oversized detail a non-factor. If you’re a little taller than me, this one will totally work for you.

Banana-Republic-mock-neck-turtleneck

Banana Republic Turtleneck xxs

One of the thickest, most plush sweaters I own. Super warm and cozy, but may be hard to layer (it’s that thick). I love the little pointelle details. This sweater is beautiful in person! Oh and the xxs fits perfectly, especially considering I usually order petite sizes at BR.

Ann-Taylor-tie-sleeve-sweater-in-gray

Ann Taylor Tie-Sleeve Sweater petite xxs

Here’s the Ann Taylor sweater I was talking about earlier. Very similar to the Halogen tie-sleeve sweater. Even the gray color is nearly identical. The petite xxs fits perfectly and since it’s petite, the arm length hits at just past my wrists. Thicker and more structured than the Halogen version. I like this sweater overall better, but I do favor the sleeve ties on the Halogen sweater. Either way, you can’t go wrong.

Abercrombie-Fitch-turtleneck

Abercrombie & Fitch Shaker Turtleneck Sweater xs

This A&F turtleneck is nice and thick. Perfect piece to keep you warm in the winter. It does run slightly short. I may just think that because my bump is taking up the extra fabric (hmmm?). Love the large turtleneck on this one. It is a bit hairy and I can see it possibly pilling over time.

Abercrombie-Fitch-oatmeal-cable-knit-sweater

Abercrombie & Fitch Airspun Cable Crewneck xs

This A&F sweater was a pleasant surprise. Super soft and seems like good quality, especially for the price. Easy to wear and sits on the body nicely. If I didn’t have every other sweater on the planet right now, I would order this in every color.
