The Power of Neutral Accessories

If you saw the number of tan accessories (shoes, bags, belts, etc.) I have, you’d think I was crazy. My collection may be borderline excessive, but I will say, every single one of them gets used all-the-time. One of the first things I wanted to do when I began creating a timeless wardrobe was to get the basics down in classic colors. Through this process, I’ve found that tan accessories (leopard happens to be tan) tend to be the most versatile and the color I reach for most often. Having a closet full of the same color accessories also allows you to extend your wardrobe, meaning more outfits with less clothes, and really adds cohesion to your looks. I never ever would have thought I’d be all matchy-matchy, but I can’t tell you how much I rely on matching my shoes to my bag. It really adds sophistication and style to even the most basic outfits.

As boring as it may be to have a closet full of tan bags and shoes, I could not recommend it more! It makes getting dressed everyday so much easier, you’ll always have the perfect accessories, and I promise, your cost per wear ends up being really low. Um, that’s what I call winning all around! For those of you looking to create a timeless wardrobe, my one piece of advice would be, start with accessories in classic colors. They’ll take you along way!
