Weekend Recap 16

Happy Monday! It finally feels like spring/summer and this girl couldn’t be happier. I swear, it just feels like the whole city lights up and everyone is so happy when the sun is out. We live in a neighborhood where all the kids play outside and you can hear all the laughter and excitement. It’s such a refreshing change because in the Bay Area kids don’t play outside anymore… well, at least I never heard or saw any.

Friday day we shot photos downtown and then ended the night at my aunt’s house for dinner. One of my favorite things about warm weather, bbq’s. My aunt grills a ton, so it’s nice to just be outside with a cold glass of pinot grigio. It gets warmer later in the day in Oregon (versus California), so the nights tend to stay super warm. The dogs also love being outside, so it’s a win win.

Saturday we met up with a potential dog sitter. This was our first time looking/meeting with a dog sitter as our dogs have always stayed with family in the past. Trying to plan a trip of any kind has been pretty difficult because we’re always worried about our dogs (yes, we’re that attached to them). Thankfully, we loved the family we met and will be using them this week as we’re headed to Washington to get some R&R. We used DogVacay, which I will say was pretty easy to use. If you’re looking for dog sitters, I would highly recommend downloading the app or going to their website. We spent the rest of the afternoon at Bridgeport (an outdoor mall of sorts) sitting outside Peet’s drinking coffee, basking in the sun, and talking (my aunt met up with us). Can I just say, sitting outside on a nice day is so underrated. I always feel like we have do something, yet my favorite thing to do is sit around with friends, drinking coffee, and laughing our heads of at stupid things. I definitely need to do this more often… (if the weather cooperates).

We woke up to beautiful sunshine on Sunday. When the light is absolute perfection in your room right when you wake up, you know you’re going to have a good day, lol. We headed to the Pearl District for some last minute shopping for our trip. We stopped by Madewell and Anthropologie (stay tuned to see what I tried on). I had my eye on this top after seeing it online and it’s even better in person. The fabric seems thick and stiff, but once you put it on, it’s super comfortable! We stopped by Bamboo Sushi before we made our way home. I spent the rest of the day trying to get ahead with work since we’re headed out of town on Wednesday.

I would say overall, it was a pretty awesome weekend. The weather was everything and more and I’m just excited we’ve finally escaped winter (let’s cross our fingers). Blog posts will go live Mon-Thurs, but also be sure to follow along on Instagram  as we head to Alderbrook Resort and Spa.

How was your weekend?
