This is the first time I’ve ever worn both the color blush and a pencil skirt. Crazy, right? Mike was browsing my Instagram over the weekend and he made a comment about how I’ve really been sticking with this whole ‘wear something other than ripped jeans’ thing. He also mentioned how I’ve been wearing things that aren’t typically my style. Initially, I was kind of put off by his comment. In years past, I was always hesitant to step out of my comfort zone for that exact reason. “She’s a denim and tee kinda girl, why is she wearing this or that.” Or, “she’s only wearing that because it’s a trend right now.” But, then I realized a couple of things. A. he’s a guy and doesn’t really know what he’s talking about and B. just because I’ve been wearing pieces I’ve never worn before, it doesn’t mean I haven’t been staying true to my style.   What I’ve realized over these last couple of months is it’s not necessarily about the item, it’s about how you wear it. I don’t want to be put into a single category. I don’t want to only be known for wearing ripped jeans and tee shirts. I want to be able to wear anything, the classics and trends, all while staying true to my laid back casual style.

So yes, I may be a first timer at a lot of pieces I’ll wear this year, but I can guarantee I’ll be making them my own and adding the Crystalin touch to all of them! That’s what style is about, right?
