New Site + Changes

Welcome to my new site! It’s been a little chaotic this past weekend working on the transfer, but I’m so glad this day has finally come. I’m still working out a couple kinks (forwarding the ITCWC url to this one), so please bare with me… I’m not going to lie, this whole transfer/new domain process has been rough. Transferring content, re-categorizing and tagging every single post, designing, developing, and forwarding, wholly heck, it’s been crazy. Taking everything on myself (thanks to Google) was scary, but I’m so glad I went through it because now I feel like an even bigger WordPress/hosting/html nerd (in a good way). Hit me up if you need help, because I’ve probably already been through it, ha.

The Name – I went back and forth about it for a really long time. Mike and I would lay in bed at night coming up with some of the most random ass sh** . I decided it was important to keep my name in the title because a. it’s unique and b. for SEO and search purposes, it’s a winner. In the City with Crystalin was the first name I ever came up with back in 2009, which seems like a hundred years ago, and it’s based on a location I no longer reside. I wanted the new name to be timeless and forever me no matter where I move or what I’m doing. Crystalin Marie (my middle name) just rolled off the tongue nicely. And that’s how she was born.

New features after the jump

I added Features to the sidebar to provide easy access to some of the most popular weekly series.

Because I don’t normally pin using a hover Pin It button, I never really thought this was needed. But, after doing some research, I decided to give it a go. I also like that it keeps my design sleek and I don’t need extra buttons below the post. I also love that you can customize them!

I’ve added a link to my Want Need Love Pinterest page where I share my favorite picks from around the web.

Every post is now categorized into general topics for easy navigation. Every post is also tagged with more specific categories to help you narrow down whatever it is you’re looking for. Think of tags as subcategories. Other Tid Bits showcases some helpful and fun posts from the past.

As Seen On page is where I share my guest posts, features, and mentions from around the web.

I hope you guys like the new site and find the new features helpful. I want to thank you so much for all your support over the years. This blog has grown so much this past year and I could not have done it without you. If you have any questions, or just general feedback, feel free to email me or leave a comment.

As much as I’m excited my new baby is up and running, I’m so relieved it’s over. I think I’ll take the rest of the day off and enjoy a glass of wine… or 5!

P.s. Don’t forget to update your blog links, rss, or however you follow this blog to the new domain. Also, although all my social media profiles are the same, meaning you don’t have to re-follow me, I do have a new name. I’m still in the process of updating Facebook and Bloglovin.

P.s.s my new email address is

Crystalin! The new site looks GORGEOUS, and my goodness you’ve done a fabulous job by yourself. No easy feat I know. Would love to hear how to got the custom Pin It button – we had one working for awhile on the Framework Blog (hours and hours of tweaking later..), and one day it just up and disappeared and doesn’t want to work anymore. Tips? Point me in the right direction?
    Would SO appreciate it!

Ps. Thanks for including Framework in your As See On page!
