Newborn to 16 Months: 10 Products We’re Still Using

It’s been awhile since I’ve talked about the baby products we’re currently using. The number one question I think I got asked when I was a new mother was, “what are your baby essentials.” I wrote about our newborn essentials here, but I thought it would be helpful if I shared the 10 products were still using from the newborn stage. You know, the ones that have proven to be worth the money/ good investment.

Nordstrom Baby Bibs – We’ve had these bibs since Harper was weeks old. They were always a bit large, but I’ve loved them because of the fit and quality. They’re so soft and comfortable on Harper. We still use these when we nurse (twice a day) and they still fit really nicely. They’ve only gotten softer with washes. They come as a set of 3 in gray, blue, and pink. Highly recommend these!

Nuna MIXX Stroller – While I think we could use a less bulky stroller now that Harper is older, we still use our Nuna stroller nearly everyday, especially now that the weather has warmed up (our daily walks). I love the smoothness of the ride and how well the stroller maneuvers. I also love how comfortable Harper fits and looks in the stroller. We also use the large basket for all our crap. Definitely comes in handy. Not going to lie, I’m envious of the new color combinations. I wish the black and leather was available when we bought our stroller.

Nuna Mixx Stroller with Pipa Car seat

Skip Hop Stroller Organizer – This has been a life safer more recently. I would use it when Harper was a baby, baby to hold more of my things (coffee, cell phone), but now that she’s older, the organizer is filled to the brim with both my stuff and her stuff. It stays put and we love that we don’t have to take it off when we fold up the stroller. If you’re stroller doesn’t have any storage, etc., I highly recommend this.

Traveling with a baby

Hershel Baby Bag – Technically we didn’t have this bag when Harper was a newborn, but I should have. I waited on getting a bag until I really knew what we needed. The bag is extremely roomy and awesome if you’re an overpacker. It’s also great for traveling. It holds so much and has enough pockets to keep things fairly organized (we do use cubes, though). I also love that the design is very neutral and Mike feels comfortable using it. It’s held up so well, too.

Stokke Steps High Chair – This highchair was one of the bigger investments we made, but it’s been so worth it! We’ve been using it every day since Harper was 6 months old (so not technically a newborn, but you get the gist). It’s beautiful, fits our decor, well made, and grows with your child. I know we’ll be using it for years to come, but I already feel like we’ve gotten our money’s worth.

Nuna carseat without base

Nuna Pipa Car Seat – We had no idea how essential this car seat would be when we bought it. I didn’t realize the no-base feature was so important. Harper doesn’t use this car seat anymore regularly, but we do use it for travel or if my aunt needs it when she watches her. It’s our “extra” car seat now, but the the fact that it doesn’t need a base, meaning it can work in any car, has been huge. Since Harper is fairly small, she still fits in it comfortably. If you plan on moving car seats from car to car (husband, your car, babysitter, etc.) this is an awesome option.

Little Giraffe Bath Towels – I picked up a few of these towels during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale before Harper was born, not thinking anything about it. But, once we started using all our bath towels, Little Giraffe was superior. Like way superior that Mike will only use these (diva, lol). They’re a great size and the hood is everything. The best thing about them, they absorb water really well and dry Harper super fast. We now have at least 5-6 of these towels. We love them!

Stokke Flexi Bath – Not going to lie, we still use this bath. We transitioned Harper to a big girl bath, but she wasn’t really a fan, so we came back to this small bath. Mike does her baths and this bath on the sink counter is the perfect height for him (he’s 6’4”). He’s not breaking his back like he is in the regular bath. We bought the bath with the newborn support, so we have literally been using this since we brought Harper home from the hospital. It folds up nicely for storage and is very portable.

Ergobaby Omni 360 Carrier – We bought the Original Ergobaby Carrier before Harper was born and never really used it. Once I did more research, I realized I bought the wrong carrier #firstimemomproblems. I found the Omni 360 and once Harper was a little bit older and could face front, we started using it and she loves it, even till this day. Mike will use it on walks with both dogs and even though Harper can walk, she still loves going on their walks together.

Boppy Support Pillow – I’ve been using this since day one. It was my whole life when Harper was born, than we used it to help her sit up, and now we’re still using it to nurse. It’s been my little companion for a good 16 months. Harper nurses in the football position, always has, so the support of this pillow is kind of everything. I use makeshift pillows when we’re traveling and nothing compares. This was definitely one of the best purchases we made.

I’ve talked about it many times before, but I love shopping at Nordstrom because it’s a one-stop-shop for me. I get a ton of my clothes from there, but I also shop for the whole family. Can you believe all 10 of these items are from Nordstrom?  Not only do they have my go-to brands, but I can’t get enough of their amazing customer service. Free shipping, free returns, and my favorite, $12 two day shipping! If you’re a new mom or haven’t shopped Nordstrom for baby, I highly recommend checking them out.
