My Go-To Place to Shop Fall and Winter Shoes

Steve Madden mules

I wouldn’t consider myself a shoe addict, but I do LOVE a good pair of shoes. Since I’m very particular about what enters my closet, I go through a bit of a process before ordering a new pair of shoes. What purpose do they serve?, do I know the brand and if the sizing will fit TTS?, will I actually wear them?, how versatile are they?, and how will I wear them? I also typically wait a couple weeks before buying anything to make sure they’re something I really want. I really, really try to stay away from any impulse buys.

Shopping With Ebay

How to shop ebay

If you look into the archives of this blog, you’ll find my love for eBay runs deep. It’s a funny story. One of my closest friends was an avid eBay shopper when we were in college and I always felt so in awe of her expertise in shopping used items. I always thought, isn’t it so scary to shop on a site for pre-worn stuff? How do you know if you’re getting authentic pieces? Fast forward 5 years and I became a bit of an eBay addict. I finally got the guts and took the plunge and became addicted to searching, bidding, and winning. The rush of it all was super exciting. I bought my first Tory Burch bag, I scored several vintage Coach crossbody bags, and collected all of J.Crew Everly pumps (remember those?). More than half of the clothes you saw on the blog we’re definitely from eBay.

2017 Holiday Gift Guide Under $50

It’s officially gift guide season! I went back and forth about doing these this year just because there’s so much going on already (hello, baby!), but after polling everyone on Instagram Stories, many of you are still very much intersted in these roundups. I’m going to feature a few as posts (like this one) and house the rest of them under the Holiday Gift Guides tab in the menu bar. You can also easily access them by clicking the big red box that says Holiday Gift Guides on the homepage.

Holiday Wear: Sweater Dress

Cuff Sleeve sweater dress

After asking for your feedback and listening to all your request, I’m excited to announce I’ll be taking on holiday wear while pregnant this year! I’ve sort of stayed away from this department in the past. I don’t know, it just never felt 100% me or right. But, this year I’m feeling A LOT different. My body has gone through changes and at times I feel best in dresses. Maybe pregnancy has allowed me to embrace my more feminine side if you will? I’m not going to lie, it’s a little scary. New territory AND managing this ever-growing belly. We’ll see how well this goes. I’ll be wearing non-maternity pieces, so you’ll be able to shop all the looks with ease (woohoo).  Alrighty then, let’s kick of the Holiday Wear Series with a very easy and simple sweater dress from Banana Republic.

Feeling Fall with Kamik

This post was sponsored by Zappos

Kamik and Zappos

I mentioned last week how we’ve had exceptional fall weather. The temps have dropped, but the sun has been out in full swing and everything around us has been so beautiful. Just imagine these yellow leaves around every corner, aka, the PNW in all it’s glory. With the leaves falling and temps still bearable, last week was the perfect excuse to get out and explore in my new Kamik SiennaF boots. These insulated and waterproof boots are quintessential for the wet climate and unpredictable snow we have in Oregon. They’re comfortable and incredibly warm. They do run a half size small, so I would size up, especially if you’re thinking of wearing thick socks with them.

30 fall outfit ideas to copy 2

Now that we’re fully into fall, I thought it would be fun to roundup some of my favorite fall looks from the past. Some are more recent and some are from last year. Fall is one of the easiest times of year for me to get dressed, but I think that’s because it’s my favorite season. I know for others, this time of year can be overwhelming. With so much on our plates (family, Thanksgiving, holiday shopping, holiday parties, etc.), getting dressed can be daunting and the last thing we want to think about. Or, maybe this is your favorite time of year to put together outfits and you just need some new ideas to work with. Regardless, these 30 outfit ideas can easily be recreated with a lot of the basics you already have in your closet. For the pieces that have sold out, I’ve linked to similar options for you. Enjoy!

My Picks: Banana Republic Friends & Family Sale

Banana Republic friends and family sale 1

I couldn’t sleep last night/this morning, so obviously I was on my phone browsing the Internet and Instagram. I stumbled upon Banana Republic’s Friends & Family Sale and there’s so many great pieces (many of which I’ve ordered already), I had share what’s worth checking out. Get 40% off regular priced items or if you’re an email subscriber, get 50% off! Over the summer I kind of took a break from BR. Not intentionally, I just wasn’t finding anything that suited my style. I’m feeling the complete opposite right now. I want everything! Let’s face it, BR does fall and winter best, don’t you think?
