Guest Bedroom: Photos & Sources

Crystalin Marie guest bedroom

I mentioned on my Stories last week, but in case you didn’t hear, we’re transforming this room into a playroom. I’m super sad to see the guest room go, but also excited for a functioning space for Harper and a new space to decorate. The guest room has been my favorite room in the house – it gets the BEST light. It’s small but mighty. Read on to hear about my inspiration for the room and links to all the sources.

Harper’s 16th Month Update + Schedule

I swore I would be more consistent with these and I’m already a month late (and I’m doing them every other month, lol). But, it’s finally here! At this age, everything is changing so fast. Harper was still my baby last month and then all of a sudden she is a straight up toddler. I can’t even handle it. Time, please slow down. But on the other hand, every phase gets better and better. I love watching her grow, learn, and experience the world. Her little personality is so awesome and fun – she’s confident, flirty, bashful (at times), funny, and silly. She really does light up a room. She’s pure joy.

Embracing Spring in White Denim

Happy Tuesday, friends! It’s been a minute. We took an unexpected trip to California to attend funeral services for a family member. It’s been a whirlwind couple of weeks to say the least. But, I’m happy to be back on the blog and sharing some new projects with you. We’ve had some incredible weather since we’ve been back and it’s been a mood changer for sure. Although we’ve been welcomed with all the sunshine and blooming trees and plants, my allergies have been crazy. I’m hoping the sneezing, congestion, and itchy eyes subside soon… the only downside of welcoming warm weather, right?

Drew Barrymore Flower Home Collection

Drew Barrymore Walmart collaboration

We recently did a little spring refresh in our guest bedroom with pieces from the new Flower Home Collection by Drew Barrymore at Walmart. I love playing around with decor and linens in this room because it gets the best light in the house and it’s always so stunning. Anytime I need to rest and recharge, I head into this room. It instantly puts me in a good mood.

3 Easy Tips to Dress Up Mom Jeans

Levi's wedgie straight jeans

Mom jeans are a fairly new style of denim that I get asked about all the time. While I don’t think mom jeans are hard to style, I do think it’s new territory for many. We’re all very used to skinny jeans or boyfriends jeans, but what are mom jeans and how do you style them? Technically, mom jeans are light-washed, high-waisted jeans that were popular in the 80’s and 90’s. You can still technically find those jeans now, but mom jeans have gotten an upgrade if you will. So for me, any high-waisted, straight-legged jeans are considered mom jeans. I like to style mom jeans casually with mules, sneakers, or flats, but today’s blog post is all about how to dress them up.

Once the weather warmed up I knew I had to share and review a couple of petite pieces for you guys.

My New Outlook On Personal Style

There’s been so many blessings since becoming a mother. Harper alone has changed my life for the better and I’ve had some of the best moments of my life this last year. Becoming a mother has also changed my outlook on so many things.  My job is all about shopping and fashion and you can get very caught up and sucked in to it all – the latest trends, who’s wearing what, the next best bag, what others think of you, etc. Don’t get me wrong, I still love clothes, the process of putting outfits together, and sharing it women around the world, but my perspective has changed. I no longer try so hard to wear things that I think people want to see. I don’t get down on myself for liking white tops, neutrals, and jeans (I’ve received messages saying I wear the same thing). I own my style and won’t apologize for it.

Leopard Dress 2 Ways

Leopard wrap dress 2 ways

For the last couple of months (probably longer) I’ve been searching for the perfect leopard dress. I’m so happy to report, I think I found it! This dress is a dream. It’s so flattering and it can work on all body types. The dress is a midi style, but hits right above my ankles, which is the length I was looking for. It’s not a petite, but the length works and the tie waist really helps make the fit versatile. The sleeves run slightly long, but I roll them up or under, so they don’t bother me. You can dress this one up or down and wear them with sneakers, which happens to be my favorite way to wear them.

Spanx Faux Leather Leggings Styled 7 Ways

Spanx faux leather leggings

Spanx faux leather leggings petite xs, Zara leather jacket xs (old, similar), Lou & Grey hoodie xxs (old, similar), Givenchy Antigona satchel small, Nike Huarache sneakers 5.5,  Quay sunglasses

After sharing the Spanx faux leather leggings in petite on Stories, I had a few requests to share different ways to style them. I typically only wear leggings casually with sneakers, but I thought I would step out of my comfort zone to help share more ways to style them. I was also asked if faux leather leggings work in the spring. My answer – treat them as regular leggings. If it’s cool enough (temperature wise) to wear them then go for it.
