Okay, these months are flying by. I swear, I just wrote Harper’s 3 month update. My tiny baby seems like an actual person these days, she’s growing up SO fast! While Mike and I have a better grasp on this whole parenting / having a 4 month old, it’s still so surreal to call ourselves parents. Every so often we catch ourselves in awe of the fact that I grew this little human in my stomach. It’s so crazy how life works, isn’t it?
We’re officially moved in! It has been quite the couple of days… moving with a baby and 2 yappy dogs is not recommended, lol. But, we’re in and getting settled. It has been a dream of mine to have a house where the entire interior is painted white and I must say, I’m in LOVE. I can’t wait to share our design process with you guys. I have nearly all the rooms mapped out already. But, until then, I’m sharing some of my design inspiration.
Shoes are usually the first thing I gravitate toward when the seasons change. It’s my favorite way to transition my wardrobe, if you will. The only problem, I tend to go overboard. I buy way too many shoes and don’t end up wearing or liking them all. This year I told myself, invest in handful and wear them to death. Don’t buy every trend and go with the classics. Also, I wanted to make sure I chose colors that go with my summer color scheme. Black, cognac, white, and tan – sounds about right! It’s probably too early to call it, but I think I’ve found my rotation (with an exception to 2 pairs. Stay tuned for those). We’ll see if I can hold myself accountable and not go overboard this spring and summer.
Now that we’re inching closer to better weather days, I could not be more excited for spring and spring fashion. Every season I like to purchase a new go-to piece to help inspire that season’s wardrobe. It’s usually either a pair of shoes or jeans. Since I’m back to my pre-pregnancy size and so excited about wearing jeans, I had been on the search for the perfect pair of light wash jeans for spring and summer. I hadn’t had a ton of luck, so I enlisted my new stylist from Trunk Club, Madison, to help with the search.
It’s been a process, but I can officially say, we’re home owners! Sitting down to write this post feels so surreal. While I haven’t dreamt of my own home my whole life, it was something I’ve really wanted more recently – probably in the last 5 years. With that being said, knowing our circumstance with owning a small business, I knew there would be hurdles, I knew it would take some perseverance. Some days I even thought it was impossible. Other days I thought I wasn’t deserving. It’s been a roller coaster of emotions, but I’m so happy and grateful to be moving into a dream home and spending our first holidays with Harper in a home we worked so hard for.
As I’m sure you’re aware by now, I have an obsession with sneakers. Nikes are actually my weakness. I spot a new pair every other month and put it on my wishlist. Mike is just obsessed with Nike sneakers, but he’s more practical about it, lol. There’s something about the ease of sneakers – so comfortable and I love the way they add an unexpected element to an outfit.
It’s Way Day! It’s Wayfair’s biggest sale of the year. Get the lowest prices on so many great pieces for 24 hours only. My super popular bed frame is on sale and this color and size are in-stock (queen in gray). I receive SO many questions about this bed – we LOVE it! Also, Harper’s Hudson convertible crib is on sale. Another great piece we love – sturdy, easy to put together, and super modern and chic. I’m sharing more of my favorites from the sale below. Happy shopping!
I receive so many questions about the things we use for Harper. Honestly, it’s a nice surprise. Whether you’re buying gifts for a new mom, are a soon-to-be mom, or currently in the same boat as me, I love being able to share this time with you. I do a ton of research before purchasing anything for Harper. I make sure they’re safe, non-toxic, and worth the $$. I try to stay away from things that will just sit in the closet or collect dust. Other than swaddles and body suits (which, I’ll admit, I went overboard), we’ve really used everything we’ve purchased to far. Mike actually made a comment about this a couple months ago. He gave me a hard time when I was buying for Harper. “We don’t need this, we don’t need that.” But, to his surprise we’ve used EVERYTHING.
Happy Monday! What a weekend. I know I mentioned my parents coming into town 2 weekends ago, but we got the dates mixed up and they were actually here this last weekend. It was SO good to see them, but Mike and I (and probably Harper) are exhausted! I could probably sleep for 3 days straight, lol. We had incredible weather, which has been such a nice change for me mentally. I was starting to go crazy with all the dark days. With that being said, I can already feel my allergies flaring up (noooo!). Crossing my fingers my sinuses have adjusted to Oregon pollen.. it’s been 2.5 years already.
