I’ve never really played with proportions until recently. Since I’m always looking for ways to look taller, I’ve stuck with pieces that help elongate my body and fit proportionately. While I still do this on a regular basis, I’ve been experimenting with longer pieces. Maxi cardigans (seen here and here), tunics, and longline shirts and sweaters. I didn’t think I could pull them off, but so far, I don’t hate it. Take for instance this J.Crew Factory infinity shirt. It’s definitely long, but with the side slits and some styling, I made it work on my small frame. Anyone can wear a button down shirt, but to wear it long and untucked, you have to really put some thought into styling. I’ve always been a fan of unexpected elements, and that’s exactly what you get with this look. This is probably one trend I didn’t see myself gravitating toward, but I may be hooked.  I already have my eye on this tunic sweater, this longline shirt, and this cowl neck tunic.
