Reader Survey & Feedback

Before you judge the post’s title, hear me out. I’ve been feeling uninspired when it comes to the blog for quite some time. At first I ignored it, thinking a brand new week or month could resolve some of the problems, but after feeling the same way for months, I realized it’s a thing. I’ve talked to Mike and my family about the issue and both have had some good advice, but it was time to reflect and get some feedback from the people that know this space really well, YOU.

I’ve been blogging consistently for about 4-5 years now. I try to post at least 4 times a week, but often times it’s 5-6. If you think about it, that’s nearly 280 posts per year. I think you could say I can shoot photos and write content in my sleep. I’m definitely at the point where things have become stagnant and I’m feeling less and less inspired. There are days when I question what you want to see from me, or decide not to post because I don’t have anything to say. With that being said, Crystalin Marie is having the greatest success it’s ever seen. Over the years I slowly grew the blog and was able to live out a dream last August when I took it full time. Although I’m living out a dream, I’m feeling the most disconnected from this space than ever before. Crazy how things work, right?

I know a lot of these feelings are coming up because of lack of time. The business is growing fast and we’re busier than ever, which also means, there’s less time to be creative and spend time thinking up new content ideas. My mind is on overdrive, aka, there’s no more room for creativity. Being a creative person, that’s a tough pill to swallow. You’re in this super fast paced industry where people are throwing out beautiful and innovative content on Instagram, Instagram Stories, Snapchat, and Youtube, and I’m over here trying to organize and answer emails and edit photos for the next day’s blog post. I always feel like I’m one step behind. Don’t get me wrong, I love what I do and feel extremely grateful to be in this position. I know a lot of this is part of growing a small business. Time is everything and you have to learn how to be more efficient and spend your time wisely.

So, instead of trying to guess what you want to see on the blog, I want to hear from you! I want to understand what keeps you coming back to Crystalin Marie and what you think would help improve your overall experience. By reaching out, asking questions, and getting your feedback, I hope to get re-inspired to create content I’m passionate about and make this space a more enjoyable experience for you.
