After sharing the Spanx faux leather leggings in petite on Stories, I had a few requests to share different ways to style them. I typically only wear leggings casually with sneakers, but I thought I would step out of my comfort zone to help share more ways to style them. I was also asked if faux leather leggings work in the spring. My answer – treat them as regular leggings. If it’s cool enough (temperature wise) to wear them then go for it.
For the most part faux leather leggings are styled best in the fall and winter with layers. Again, I typically stick to athleisure wear, but they also pair well with just about any type of boot – booties, rain boots, winter boots, OTK boots, and so on. But with that being said, I still think you can get plenty of wear out of them all year round. For instance, I would wear any of these outfits right now if the weather was warm enough. While I was in the process of styling spring appropriate outfits and stepping out of my comfort zone for this post, I realized I just can’t do leggings with heels. It’s a proportion thing – I can’t do super tight leggings and then a heel – I don’t know what it is. I also like to tuck in all my tops to help elongate my legs, but with leggings you want to sort of cover your butt and front side. If you’re tall, you can easily get away with this because you still have plenty of leg to show. But when you’re petite, you’re legs get swallowed up. Moral of the story, for me, leggings work best with casual, athleisure looks and flat shoes.
