Spring Shoe Trends with Nordstrom

Spring is officially less than a week away and I could not be more excited. I say I’m excited, but the way this winter has been going, I doubt we’ll see the cherry blossom trees anytime soon. In general though, I’m looking forward to swapping out my winter wardrobe for my favorite spring pieces. There’s something about physically taking your scarves and turtleneck sweaters and tucking them away that really feels refreshing and exciting. Out with the old, in with the new! I may not be able to fully embrace all the spring trends yet, but the dreary weather hasn’t stopped me from stocking up on spring shoes.  I think I’ve ordered over 13 pairs in the last month or so… #yikes! There’s just so many great trends I’m excited to try this year. The loafer is still going strong, mules are all the rage, and sneakers are making a comeback.

I really started embracing loafers last fall, but winter hit fast, so I never fully had the chance to style them. I love the masculine touch they give to an outfit. You can wear the girliest dress and throw on a pair of loafers and you have a perfectly balanced outfit. They’re also a simple solution to complete a look. I’ll be living in the Gucci Princetown loafers all year long, as well as my Kristin Cavallari Capri mules (these are the most comfortable shoes, ever!).

I never thought I’d be a mule girl, but they’ve grown on me over the last year, and now I’ve become a bit obsessed. Ever since I started embracing vintage style jeans, my love for mules followed. I think I’m just really loving the whole retro vibe. The Marc Fisher Rinna crisscross sandals are one of my favorite spring finds so far. I have them in both pink and nude and not only are they gorgeous, but they’re so soft and comfortable. Style them with cropped jeans, dresses, skirts, and shorts. Definitely a style you will be seeing all year!

Last but not least, the sneaker! One of my favorite trends of all time and something I think we can all fall back on. Sneakers are comfortable and familiar and just so darn easy to wear. I’m all for athleisure wear, but I also love sneakers with more feminine silhouettes. When Mike asks me styling questions (did you know, I love menswear?), I always tell him the more unexpected, the better. You know that saying, when opposites attract, well think of that when putting together outfits. Think slip on sneakers with dresses or more tailored pieces with a pair of Nikes. Since I’ve been on a bit of a sneaker binge as of late, the second I saw this pair with pom poms and a platform sole, I had to have them. Probably not the most flattering or versatile pair of sneakers you could buy, but they’re super fun. Reviews mention they run small, but they actually run big on me. The heel is really uncomfortable, but I’ll be adding inserts to help prevent blisters. If you’re a sneaker buff, now’s the time to fully embrace your tomboy side.

Nordstrom has an awesome selection of spring shoe styles right now. I just picked up these slip on sneakers and also have my eye on these, these, and these.
