Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mike left for his Mt. Hood hike on Thursday and just arrived home yesterday, so, it was just me and the pups. This was Mike’s first hike like this (no shower, dry freeze food, no bathroom kind of thing) and thankfully he’s alive and well, lol. I didn’t love the idea of him going, but I know he was interested in the experience and challenging himself and I couldn’t be more proud of him. He hiked 40 miles on a plant based diet, lol (take that haters).
All the dog blankets and Riley snuggles
Sunday snuggles with my baby girls
Baked vegan chocolate chip cookies with my aunt. Turned out amazing. Used this recipe.
This little girl refused to sleep in her own bed while Mike was gone.
Snagged this blazer from H&M. Arms run long, I have them folded under here. I’m wearing a size 2.
My weekend was pretty uneventful. Having two dogs constantly watch your every move and nag you to get off the computer is quite annoying. While I loved snuggling them and getting all of Riley’s attention (he’s usually obsessed with Mike), these dogs are so high maintenance, lol. I think I’m just ultra sensitive to them. I’m one of those parents that feels bad if they’re not entertained all day or when I leave them home. I need to grow some tough skin. I always have to remind myself, they have a very good life. We did head to my aunt’s house on Friday night. We ordered take-out Thai food and made vegan chocolate chip cookies. We used this recipe and they turned out amazing. There’s a lot of coconut in them, so if you’re not a fan, you may want to try a different recipe.
Oh and yes, I did some returns and shopping on Saturday and picked up this blazer and this amazing coat. The coat runs a little long, but the fit everywhere else is awesome. I’m obsessed, I want it in every color!
I’ve also been glued to the news and I can’t get over what’s happening to this country right now. A couple weeks ago I had a complete meltdown and just started bawling as I was reading/watching everything going on with Houston and now Florida. It’s hard to stay up-to-date on everything because it puts me in a sad and depressed state. But, I also know this is reality for so many people. My thoughts are with everyone going through such devastation.
