What to Expect in 2019

Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. I’m super pumped for this post today because I’m all about 2019. While 2018 was a huge year of growth and figuring out life with a new baby, 2019 feels like a fresh start. That overwhelming feeling has slowly disappeared and we have 1 year of parenting under our belt. That alone makes you feel like you can conquer the world. We finally have a really good schedule – I can leave the house, I’m not breastfeeding for what felt like every 10 minutes (well only 4 times a day, lol), and I’m able to juggle motherhood, life, and work A LOT better these days. I have so much I want to accomplish in 2019 and I’m sharing more details below.

Ann Taylor coat petite xxs (old, similar), Levi’s jeans 24 (cut the hems), J.Crew turtleneck sweater xxs, Marc Fisher boots 5, Staud bag in brown small, Quay After Hours sunglasses

We recently restructured our schedule and I’m so excited to see how it impacts our efficiency. When you run a business with your spouse, work from home, and have a 1 year old at home, your life has to be run on a schedule, otherwise, nothing will ever get done. It took a good year to figure out what works best, but I’m hoping what we have in place right now makes a big difference. This new schedule gives me the time I need to focus on all the posts you guys have asked for. I want to be more real, vulnerable, and personal – this has always been a goal of mine, but these posts take time and I just didn’t have it. I want to talk about motherhood, baby, personal growth, relationship and lifestyle topics, answer FAQ’s, share my reviews of products, give you tips on home decor or organization. My goal for this blog has always been to be well-rounded because there’s so much more to life than fashion. But posting an outfit and sharing products I’m loving has always been my go-to, it was almost the easy way out. But I want more and I’m sure so do you. So, in 2019 there will be more depth around here. The fashion and style will also continue, so don’t worry! My goal is to post Monday-Thursday, so a good 4 posts every week, woohoo.

I’m also hoping to share more real life, behind the scenes on Instagram. To be honest, Instagram has been a huge struggle for me my whole career. I’m such a visual person and I can’t NOT have a cohesive feed. I know readers don’t care about this, but it’s something that makes me happy and keeps me motivated. Mike and I have talks about this topic very often (although less now that we have Harper). He always tells me my life would be so much easier if I could not care about a cohesive feed, post any background, any lighting, any color scheme. Oh how I wish my brain could work like that, lol. Anyway, I’m hoping to stress less about all the details and share more with you guys. In this same regard, I want to share more of our life on Stories – the day to day, the funny moments, the sweet moments, the hard moments – I love connecting with you on Stories and I want to let you in and share more than my outfits and Harper (although I know you guys love Harper videos, lol).

There’s one other big business goal I have this year, but I will wait to share that one. It’s been on my goal list for 2 years now, so I’m hoping we can get there this year. It’s something that will be a huge game-changer, something I’m super excited about.

To sum it up, 2019 is all about keeping real. Focus more on creating and less about stressing. Our content made a huge leap in the last year and I’m excited to take it to another level this year. As always, please let me know if there’s anything you want to see. I love hearing your feedback and want to continue creating content you love.
