What to Wear to a Formal Christmas Dinner

In case you’re headed to a formal Christmas dinner or formal holiday dinner in general, this post is for you! I’ve never been to one, so my ideas are based on what I would wear or what I would gravitate toward. If you’re going to a nice dinner for Christmas, but it’s not necessarily formal, I would swap in a pair of nice jeans instead of a skirt or dress, that way you don’t look overdressed.

For the most part, I would say you go festive, more conservative, and comfortable (you will be sitting). I like to go more conservative when I’m in someones home that I don’t know as well. You want to look chic and elevated, but appropriate, you know what I mean? I also like the idea of wearing a skirt. I don’t know what it is, but a dress screams party to me and a skirt seems more dinner appropriate (more comfortable and easy going). I love the idea of pairing a midi skirt with a sweater and than sprucing it up a bit with accessories (shoes, jewelry, and bag). But, I also think a pair of festive trousers would look great with a blouse.
