As I’m sure you’ve seen from my Instagram, we had another 6-8 inches of snow last week. They’re saying this is the most snow the Portland area has seen since the 80’s. Crazy, right? We had been stuck in the house from Wednesday-Friday and the cabin fever was REAL. We also didn’t do a good job in stocking up on groceries, so you could imagine all the things we were craving lol. To make the most out of the situation, we got outside and snapped a couple photos. While extremely inconvenient, the snow has been absolutely gorgeous. We walked down our block and stumbled upon this beautiful backdrop. It’s still so surreal that we live here and this is right outside our house. We knew Oregon would be different from California, but I don’t think we were expecting this much change. With that being said, we love experiencing all the seasons. We’ll take the good, bad, and ugly.

I had some questions about wearing my Hunter boots in the snow. I love how easy they are to walk in, but you most definitely need thick socks. I have the Hunter fleece welly boot socks, but forgot to wear them, so my toes were pretty cold. They also don’t have any traction on the bottom of the boots, so if you’re walking on ice, you have to be very careful. On fresh powdered snow, you’re good to go.

Right? I can’t believe we stumbled upon it down our street!

Haha, I had a feeling some people would think this. I think I like it because it doesn’t really snow here.

Lol. I think we’re only having fun with it because it’s not a usual thing here (thankfully). Taking photos with beautiful backdrops helps, though.

I’ve always wanted Hunter boots, but are they good for winter? I’ve read reviews that they’re only useful for the rain and that you’re better off buying snow boots for harsh winters.

Yes, it just depends what you’re looking for. We get a ton of rain, so the Hunters are a no brainer for me. I do have snow boots, but you can definitely wear Hunter rain boots in the snow. i would 100% recommend wearing them with the fleece welly socks or else you’re feet will freeze. In my opinion, it’s nice to have both.
