2009 Turkey Trot- Chips we put on our shoes to keep our running times

Just finished the Silicon Valley 10K Turkey Trot averaging 9:34 min miles and coming in just under an hour! Congratulations to my friends, we did great! As I mentioned in an earlier post, this was my first race experience, and let’s just say, it was MADNESS! Never imagined there would be thousands of people running 6.2 miles on Thanksgiving day; there was every type of runner from hard core marathoners in spandex to little kids weaving in and out of the crowd in mini Nikes. I would have to say that it went pretty smoothly, no aches and pains and I was able to print my last mile! Very pleased… however I did forget to stretch after, so my knees are achy. At the end of the race, everyone received a bag full of energy bars and drinks and a Silicon Valley 2009 Turkey Trot T-shirt.

Overall, I thought this was a great experience. I will definitely be running a couple more of these and maybe while I am at it, Ill start the training process for a half marathon!

Some songs on my playlist:

I wanna Dance with Somebody- Whitney Houston

Sexy Chick- David Guetta Ft. Akon

Live Like Your Dying- Kris Allen

Do You Remember- Jay Sean feat Lil John

Empire State of Mind- Jay Z feat Alicia Keys

Waiting for the race to startRight after we crossed the finish line!
