I never really embraced black ankle booties until recently. I didn’t think they were flattering on my small frame, making me look shorter than I wanted to appear. I’m slowing getting over all the rules I set for myself because at the end of the day, if you own it, you can always make it work. I happen to love black booties now and my collection is growing rapidly. We all know how versatile a pair of black boots can be, but I also love that you can wear them year round. I naturally gravitate toward lighter colors in the spring and summer, but this year I’m making it a point to incorporate more black (I just stocked up on whites, blues, and nudes for spring, so we’ll see how well this goes). I love the idea of pairing a flowy, floral dress with black ankle booties. Something sweet paired with something more tough makes for the perfect balance.
Style Tip – For a no-fail pulled together look, pair your black ankle booties with a black handbag. Seems simple enough, but when you make the conscious effort to match your accessories, it really takes your outfit up a notch.
