Building Your Spring Wardrobe

Spring is around the corner and I’ve been browsing new arrivals and I’m getting so excited! Coming out of being pregnant for the last year, it feels nice to get back into regular clothes again. I mean, hello denim (the piece I missed the most!). I probably say this every year, but I’m really trying to pare down my wardrobe and really only trying to bring in classic, versatile pieces. Below I’m sharing a list of essentials to help you build your spring wardrobe. I’m also detailing a few new spring pieces from Nordstrom.

Spring Essentials

  1. Trench Coat
  2. Denim Jacket
  3. Shacket
  4. White Button Down
  5. Medium Blue Jeans
  6. White Sneakers
  7. Mules/Loafers
  8. White Dress
  9. Stripe Sweater
  10. Embroidered Blouse/Shirt
  11. Nude Sandal (heeled and flat)

Every season I like to browse Nordstrom‘s new arrivals to see what’s missing in my closet. I like to check out new trends, favorite brand’s new arrivals, and wardrobe staples that need refreshing. I love that it’s a one-stop-shop (love looking for Harper and Mike too) and find the $12 2 day-shipping super convenient. They have a really good selection of spring arrivals right now. I’m sharing a few try-on’s below.

Jenni Kayne Button Down xs – A classic white button down is a wardrobe essential, especially in the spring! I didn’t really come to love these until I was pregnant last year. This one from Jenni Kayne is perfectly oversized and cool. The key to button downs is finding the right fit – oversized and not too tailored otherwise you it looks more office appropriate.

Rails Striped Sweater xxs – A stripe sweater is such a classic piece year round, but I love them in the spring. The weather is warming up a bit and you can finally wear a simple sweater without all the layers. A go-to, no-fail combo is stripes and denim. This sweater from Rails is really nice. A slight mock neck and great oversized fit for petites.

& Other Stories Embroidered Top 4 – I’m a sucker for white embroidered tops once the weather warms up. This one is super cute with all the eyelet details. I find & Other Stories tops to run a bit small, so I sized up. I do wish this was more of a blouse/top versus a button down, though.

Thookoon Shirt Jacket xs – This jacket is EVERYTHING! I haven’t found the perfect shacket until now. It reminds me so much of the Aritiza one, but not overly long. It does have an unfinished vibe, so keep that in mind. I rolled the sleeves, but other than that, it’s the perfect oversized shirt jacket.

Maggy London Eyelet Dress small – This dress reminds of a dress from SEA but for a fraction of the price. It’s also super comfortable! The small ran a tad big, but I think the xs would totally work. A great length for petites, not see-through, and has pocket!

Treasure & Bond Midi Dress xxs – White embroidered tops and white dresses are my spring and summer weakness. This dress was surprisingly really cute. The xxs is too small, I would recommend sizing up 2 sizes if your bustier. It’s a great length for petites and it has pockets. You do need to wear a slip under as it’s a bit shear. Love that it works as a day dress or a coverup. And so affordable!

Special thank you to Nordstrom for partnering on this post.
