Elevated Summer Basics

We’re currently staying in Black Butte, but I wanted to pop in and share some favorites from Everlane’s new arrivals this month. The majority of my wardrobe consists of fall essentials from the brand, but over the last couple of months I’ve found some really great elevated basics for summer. Read on to see how I styled my favorite new arrivals 3 different ways.

I’ve been wearing the Air Cami a lot (sized up to an xs), but I’m obsessed with the new Cutaway tank. I’ve always been a sucker for a tank that shows off my shoulders and has more of a high neck and this one is super flattering. It’s thicker than the Air Cami and runs tight around your body. I sized up to small for a little more room (which is 2 sizes up for me), but you could easily size up one size. It’s a crisp white color and I love the way it looks with sunkissed skin.

I’m actually wearing  the Cheeky Denim shorts from last year, but they brought them back in a lighter color denim this year. I always go up 1 size in Everlane shorts (normally a 24, but go with a 25). These shorts are SUPER flattering. They’re high waisted with a narrow leg opening, making everything look long and lean.

The Denim Shorts are more of a relaxed denim short and I find them to be ridiculously comfortable, especially for denim shorts. These are soft with room in the waist, hips, and legs. I sized up to a 25, which I normally do with denim shorts from Everlane, but I think I could have easily gone with a 24. These also run long/came cuffed. I actually cut them and have been wearing them with a small cuff (outside of these photos). If you’re looking for comfortable denim shorts, these are a winner!

The Cotton Linen Crew is not a new arrival, but it’s one of my favorite summer pieces. I’ve had the black color way for over a year now and wear that one a lot. I finally caved and got the sand color and it goes with EVERYTHING. It’s such a great layer for summer – adds warmth, but still breathable. If you’re looking for that one summer sweater, this one is my favorite! I sized up to an xs for a more relaxed fit.

I sized up in the Air Relaxed Shirt (size 2) to serve as a cover up, but it ended up being too short. Thankfully, it’s not super oversized in the shoulders and arms, so it works perfect as a shirt. It’s lightweight and more on the thin side, which is perfect for summer. I’m also a sucker for a blue and white button down, so this top couldn’t be more perfect in my warm weather wardrobe.

I’m so thankful to finally be building out my summer wardrobe. My summer/spring wardrobe is probably 1/4 of my  fall/winter wardrobe. I’m slowly making progress thanks to versatile, lasting essentials from Everlane!
