Target recently challenged me to find one item from any section of the store (outside of style and beauty) to inspire an outfit to prove that everyday items can be extraordinary style inspiration. Let’s face it, personal style inspiration can come from anywhere and I think that’s what keeps the style world evolving and unique to the individual. Seeing as Target is my one-stop-shop for just about everything, I knew I’d be able to find the perfect piece to inspire an outfit.
Last week I made a quick trip to Target and stumbled upon all the white and gold Christmas decor (I was in heaven). If you’ve been reading this blog or following me on Instagram, you know how much I love a white and gold combination. While the pairing can be found all over our apartment and my office, I’ve never thought to create an outfit based on the color scheme… until now! I typically save the head to toe white looks for summer, but the cute white and gold decorative Christmas trees have inspired me to go bold in winter white with pops of gold. Not only did I take inspiration from the colors, but the white vest and pops of gold are festive and great for holiday parties. Who knew a decorative holiday piece could inspire such a cute outfit, right?
For those of you looking for holiday outfit ideas (or just new outfit ideas in general), I encourage you to step outside of the box and look to the everyday for style inspiration. I guarantee you’ll be surprised at what you come up with.
