Mike officially went back to work this week, which also means I’m back on a schedule. It’s always hard to get into a routine when Mike is on summer vacation because we’re always on the go and try to get out of the apartment as much as we can. I’m going to miss the spontaneous day trips or afternoons playing tennis, but I’m fully happy getting back into my routine.
The last couple of weeks before Mike went back to work, we tried to check off as many of my bucket list items as we could. We finally made it to the beach. It was actually Lola’s first time, ever. She didn’t enjoy the sand, but she loved the water. She had gone into the water when we went to the lake earlier in the summer, so she knew exactly what she was doing. I completely forgot how much I love the beach. It’s just so peaceful and calm. The people watching is always good too! Last week we made a trip to Sonoma. We hit up quite a few places and even stopped at Lagunitas Brewing Company. I’m not a beer drinker, but Mike fully enjoyed himself. We made pit stops at Chateau St. Jean, VJB Cellars, Gundlach Bundschu Winery, and then had dinner at Hopmonk Tavern, all dog friendly. I’d say it was the perfect send off to summer vacation.
Mike and I redecorated our apartment last weekend. It was a spur of the moment decision, but we ended up putting 3 full days into it (still a work in progress) and I can’t wait to share some photos. Stay tuned for a post on why we decided to redecorate and some fun storage space solutions.
