Minimalism in Los Angeles

We are officially in Los Angeles! It’s been a minute since I’ve updated you, but for those of you who missed it, we moved! I will go into more detail in a blog post about the how and why, but so far so good. We’re loving the sunshine, warm weather, and just the whole vibe. Moving was really hard, but we’re slowly settling in. As I was unpacking some of my clothes, I was feeling so overwhelmed. We’re already having spacing/storage issues and the amount of clothes I have is a little ridiculous. I don’t know if it was the move, the packing, the weather, or just the vibe here, but I’m so ready to take some of the weight off of me. I’m ready to get back to the basics and embrace a more minimal style – physically and design-wise.

Portland Oregon and Los Angeles (we’re in the Valley) are completely different when it comes to style. It will take some time to adjust, but I already have the urge to do more with less. Style is much more elevated here too, so I want to reevaluate a lot of the pieces I own and decide if it serves me anymore. This will be a journey for sure, but I’m excited to take you guys along. I did already pick up a few things from Nordstrom to get me in that LA state of mind. The Isabel Marant Beth sneakers have been on my wishlist for a while. I’m a sucker for a “tennis” style shoe and these have all the elements of the sporty style, but still very elevated. I went up a size and they fit really well. These are SO comfortable, too! I wasn’t 100% sure I loved the shoulder pad style tees from last year, but they’ve grown on me. The structured shoulders really make a basic top very chic. This one from Loulou Studio is more of a light weight sweater material, making it more elevated than a basic tee. It also comes in a pretty brown/taupe color too. I’m sharing more of my favorite minimal style options below.

As a reminder, Nordstrom offers free shipping and returns. I love their 2 day shipping for $12!
