My New Favorite Coat Styled 2 Ways

Topshop boucle coat

I probably talk about fall/winter coats a million times on the blog every year. Not only are they my favorite purchase of the season, but I’m more invested than ever because they’re an absolute necessity in the PNW. I’ve already worn nearly all my coats enough times to pay for themselves and it’s only been a month. I’m always on the hunt for a good coat. More recently, I’ve been looking for more casual, oversized coats that are comfortable and warm. I have too many fitted structured coats, which don’t really work when running after a toddler (too uncomfortable).

Meet my new favorite coat from Nordstrom. This coat has been on my radar for awhile and I finally pulled the trigger. I wear my beige coat from Topshop A LOT, so I wanted to check out another coat from the brand. For me, Topshop coats fit well (in the shoulders and arms), but they’re still roomy and comfortable, which works perfectly for layering and running after a toddler. I wouldn’t typically choose green, but I felt my very neutral closet needed a splash of color and I thought it would be great for the holidays coming up. I LOVE this coat. It’s pretty oversized, which I’m sort of shocked I’m into, but it’s so cozy and comfortable. Comfort has been key lately and this coat is just that. I almost want to order the white one as well.

I should also mention a few other new purchases. This mock neck sweatshirt will be a go-to piece for me. I love a good sweatshirt and the fact that this one has billowy sleeves and a mock neck makes it extra good. It’s super soft and cozy and it’s the perfect essential black piece to wear under coats. My Marc Fisher boots are old, but they brought back the style in a short and higher heel. These are my go-to black boots and I couldn’t recommend them more. They run TTS. Lastly, I just picked up these Nike sneakers. I always go up a half size in Nike sneakers and they fit perfectly. I always get a pair of black Nike sneakers every year and I love the simple design of these. They have a bit of heel too, so I feel extra tall in them, lol.

There’s so many great essential pieces in these outfits, so if you’re in the market for a new coat, sweatshirt, sneakers, or boots, be sure to check out my recommendations. As always, I get nearly all of my essential pieces at Nordstrom and they have such a good selection of fall and winter staples right now. Plus, you can’t beat free shipping and returns. Also, they’re 2 days shipping is only $12!
