Organic and Vegan: You can’t go wrong!

I’m super excited to be going to my first vegan bake sale this Saturday at Ike’s place. The bake sale is sponsored by Vegansaurus and VegNews Magazine, featuring 50 different bakers, and benefitting Cycles of Change APC and Harvest Home Sanctuary. I have yet to seek out any vegan bakeries here in San Francisco, so I know I will shop till I drop (well at least pick up one of everything). I mean come on…a.) it’s V-day weekend and the perfect time for goodies b.) I love pastries and c.) this is my first ever bake sale and I’m so lucky it’s all vegan; heaven!

Stay tuned for mouth watering pictures…

I will also be heading to The Plant Cafe Organic (on Chestnut in the Marina) after the bake sale to meet an old friend for lunch. I’ve only had coffee and a vegan cookie here, so I’m trilled to sit down, in their sustainable dining room, and have something organic and tasty. I love the variety of the menu; pasta, sandwiches, curry, salads, pastries, wine, soup, appetizers especially because the ingredients are all so fresh and local, and they have soooo many vegan options.

This might be my go-to eatery (a gf had mentioned this was a must)… I tend to find a few restaurants that I religiously, almost obsessively, come back to just because it’s very hard to find places that cater to  vegans (yes, even here in the City full of vegetarian and vegan options). If you come to visit me, I will most likely take you to this side street, untampered (the so-called Marina crowd), unpretentious, organic cafe. This one could be the special one, it has my name written all over it!
