Redefining My Style
J.Crew Factory topcoat (similar), AG jeans, Rag & Bone booties (sold out, similar), Bailey for J.Crew fedora, J.Crew tote, Ray-Ban aviators
There other day I was telling Mike how I felt like I was in the middle of redefining my style. I don’t know if it’s getting older, a new year, or what, but I’ve noticed myself gravitating toward different silhouettes, edgier pieces, darker tones, and all around simplicity. You would probably think said characteristics already define my style, but it all just feels different… in a good way, though. I guess you can say, the same love for neutrals, but just an elevated way to wear them.
This look kinda sums up how I’ve been feeling lately. Black on black, neutrals, a menswear inspired coat, my favorite booties, and simplicity. There isn’t a lot to the look, but the color combination, silhouette of the coat, and the hat help take it to the next level. Paying attention to simple details like the cut of a coat can really take a basic look and make it look chic.
For those of you interested in my coat, it’s about to sell out, but I found a couple very similar options. This one from Asos is nearly identical and the best part, it’s under $130. Topshop has a similar style coat as well and it comes in camel and 3 other colors (black, navy, and gray). I tried the coat on in-store and I do like the silhouette, but it does run big. If you’re petite, I’d recommend trying this version here.
