Taking on Winter in Bernardo Outerwear

Bernardo outerwear

Happy Monday! Can you believe we’re only 9 days away from Christmas? We got back from our trip to Sunriver on Thursday and to be honest, I can’t keep track of the days. Time is flying by like crazy and I’m really trying to soak in every moment. I’m wrapping up the last couple of projects before the new year and I’m so excited about this post today. I teamed up with Bernardo Outerwear to share 2 new-to-me winter coats. I’ve been wearing and working with Bernardo for the last 3 (maybe even 4) years. They’re hands down my favorite puffer coat brand – I think I’m going on 6 or 7 of their coats now. Today, I’m sharing show I style the Ecoplume™ Snakeskin Printed Packable jacket in white snake and the Ecoplume™ Maxi Coat in black.

In the past, I’ve only bought and been gifted Bernardo coats in petite sizes (which fit amazing!). This time around, I’m wearing their regular styles, both in xs. Now that I’ve tried both, I can say there’s not too much of a difference between the sizes. I also think this has to do with the coats I choose. For me, the shorter coats work best because they hit at a great length for me. If I were to choose a mid length coat in the regular size versus the petite, I think it would hit at a not-so-flattering length. I should also mention, Bernardo coats have a very flattering and feminine fit, which also helps with fit. Their coats are more on the fitted side and accentuate the waist, which is very petite-friendly and overall flattering. This is one of the main reasons I love their coats so much. Puffer coats can be large and overwhelming, especially on my small frame, so I love that their styles fit close to the body and don’t have a lot of extra fluff. They’re also warm without being heavy and bulky.

I have 2 other short jackets similar to the Ecoplume™ Snakeskin Printed Packable jacket, but thought it would be fun to go with a printed option this time. I LOVE the fit of this jacket. I’m a big collar girl, so I love this detail. It features a stowaway hood, which is perfect for the PNW. It’s water repellant and packable, which makes the jacket super versatile. The cinched waist really makes this jacket flattering when it’s zipped or open. I wear my black version year round and I’m happy to add this fun neutral option to my collection.

I had been on the search for a Maxi puffer coat and was super optimistic when I saw the Ecoplume™ Maxi Coat in black. I knew the coat would be more a full length style for me when I saw the measurements online (more of a midi length on the model), which was exactly what I was looking for. Being petite, I didn’t know if I could pull off a maxi coat, but I couldn’t be more obsessed. Again, the slim style and accentuated waist really make all the difference. I’m not a fan of coats fully closed, but this one looks so feminine when it’s zipped. It has the large standing collar, which I love, but a substantial hood as well. It’s both warm and lightweight and has all the benefits of the typical heavy down coat styles. If you live in a cold climate, I couldn’t recommend this coat more. It’s beautiful and fully functional.

Be sure to check out the full collection of Bernardo coats. Many of them are currently on sale!

Special thank you to Bernardo for partnering on this post.
