I will be compiling a full list of spring trends-to-try soon, but in the meantime, let’s talk about one of my favorites, ruffles. I wouldn’t think I would gravitate toward ruffles considering they’re normally thought to be very feminine. But, the way they’re being worn now is completely different from the frilly dilly ways of the past.  I love the pop they give to basic pieces – blouses, t-shirts, skirts, or shorts. Said pieces can get boring or redundant, but add a few ruffles to it, and it’s a completely new piece. Take for instance this MSGM top. It’s literally a t-shirt with ruffle sleeves – so basic, but adorable and updated.

The great thing about the ruffle trend, it’s normally a statement piece, so you can keep the rest of your outfit simple and easy. You can also dress it down or balance out the feminine silhouette with sneakers, jeans, or loafers. As with all trends, be cautious but open-minded. If you’re unsure if you’ll like it, pick up something more affordable first. To help you out, I’m sharing my favorite ruffle pieces at every price point below.
