Happy Monday! How was your weekend? We got snowed in, so we didn’t leave the house. You see, the Portland area doesn’t normally get snow, so we don’t really know how to deal with it. It snowed Saturday and then we had freezing rain on Sunday, which means you can’t really leave your house (unless you have experience driving on ice, which we DO NOT). It was a blessing in disguise… I guess. I was so productive, I’m feeling more on top of work than ever. But, on the other hand, I’m so ready to leave the house. Thankfully, things are looking up today and we have a full schedule of errands and the gym.
In other news – I’ve been on a complete coat binge as of late. I’m naturally drawn to statement coats, but the 20 degree temps has made my obsession a little out of control. This is our first full winter in Oregon and let’s just say we’re freezing our butts off. I didn’t mind the chilly weather in November and December, but now I’m just over it. I’m pretty sure you don’t want to see the same bundled up look everyday, right? I know, first world problems. Since it seems like I’m wearing the same thing everyday, my solution has been buying more coats. I figure, I can get through winter with more options, but I also know I’ll put them to use. I don’t think it warms up here until April or May.
Banana Republic is one of my favorite brands to shop winter coats. Their petite sizing fits perfectly on my frame and the quality and styles are always on trend. This year it seems like all their petite coats are selling out within a couple of days of being on the site. I stocked the website until this one was available (a little tip I will share more on later). I had been hesitant to wear longer coats in the past, but I actually really like this one. The gray is a nice neutral and I LOVE the large collar. I’m so sad this winter coat has sold out, but I’m sharing few similar options below.

The great thing about coats, you can throw them over just about anything and look chic. You don’t have to spend a ton of time creating a cute outfit or deciding what to wear. One piece and your done. They can elevate a basic outfit or be the perfect addition to a dressed up look. Well fitted, chic coats are the way to go. I’m sharing my favorite winter coats to try this season.
