With the wedding taking up pretty much our entire June, it’s felt like our summer has been cut short. I’m only reminded of this because Mike counts down his days until he’s back teaching (I think all teachers do this). Since we’re already halfway through July, I thought it would be fun to come up with a list of things to do before summer ends. While the list is all about my needs and wants, I give you full permission to adopt any of these for your end of summer bucket list.

Wine Country – We have yet to make it to any wineries this summer. There are some local places in Los Gatos and Saratoga, but I would love to spend the day or weekend in Napa or Sonoma. Both Mike and I enjoy drinking wine, and to be honest, I love the open air and calmness around the vineyards.

Summer Movie – We never watch movies in the theatre, but I’d love to go for a matinee or early evening. We have this tradition of sneaking in vegan popcorn. Reminds me of when we first started dating. Any good movie recommendations?

Beach – Being someone who used to live at the beach during the summer, I sure do miss it. I will say, as get older I’ve become less fond of getting sand everywhere, but sometimes you have to make the sacrifice. Temps are heating up, so perhaps we can make it happen in the next week or two.

Picnic – I miss the days of picnicking and hanging out at Fort Mason Park or the Presidio. The idea of gathering friends, being outside, playing games, enjoying some champagne, and just being in the moment.

Music in the Park – I’m all about a picnic, so when you add friends and music, it sounds like the perfect evening.

Have Friends Over for Moscow Mules – Two things happened this month. I tried my first ever Moscow Mule and we received copper mugs as gifts for our wedding. I don’t know why I’ve never thought to try the cocktail, but I love it! Normally I choose wine because honestly, vodka reminds me of my younger days when you always needed to go hard, but the mule is SO good! I think it’s time we put our mugs to use.

Play Date with Lola and Friends – This is something Natalie and I have been wanting to do for a while. We’re hoping to get together with Kate and her pup, James, as well. Instagram cuteness overload, ha!

Rock Climb – For some random reason I’ve been wanting to go rock climbing (indoor). I had been a few times when I was young, but haven’t tried it since. A fun couples date perhaps?

Bocce Ball – There’s an outdoor bocce restaurant in Sausalito that’s absolutely adorable and right on the water. This would be the perfect spot to dine al fresco on a warm summer night and enjoy in a friendly or competitive game of bocce with the husband.

Ferry Building Farmers Market – This is my happy place. The food, the vendors, the people, the location, the environment. I loving going early before it gets too crowded and just soaking it all in. The sorbet from Scream Sorbet isn’t bad either.

Another thing I want to do before summer ends, is get as many wears out of these One Teaspoon Bandit shorts as possible. They’re quite short, but I LOVE them. I was hesitant on sizing, but ended up going with my normal 24. They’re roomy, but since they’re on the short side I can’t imagine going any smaller. The Bandit style tends to sell out fast, but Shopbop still has some sizes.
