What to Wear to a Summer Wedding
When it comes to summer weddings, I tend to always lean on some sort of maxi dress. I don’t know what it is, but they seem so appropriate and they’re without a doubt super comfortable. Summer weddings tend to be outdoors, so I like that the floor length fabric will help keep you warm from day to night. Honestly, I think I’ve worn a maxi dress to every wedding I’ve been to in the last 5 years (love this one from the fall). Now that’s a little crazy.
With all that being said, I thought it would be fun to mix things up a bit and share a short dress perfect for a summer wedding. This dress is not something I would normally gravitate toward, but with my growing belly, I’m trying to stay open-minded. Not knowing my size these day plus being petite and wanting to be comfortable, I’ve noticed shopping has been a little tougher these days. This dress came in petite and seemed super comfortable, so I decided to give it a shot. After trying it on, I thought with the right accessories, this could be perfect for a summer wedding. FYI, there’s some ruching details that cinch the waist, but I actually have it tucked under. While not the print or the color you’d normally see on the blog, I’m digging the florals and bright colors for summer.

My biggest rule of thumb for dressing for weddings – stay clear of anything tight and short. You’re not going to to a club with your girlfriends. Try loose and flowy in the summer or if you’re into body con dresses, go for something more midi length in the fall or winter.
