Happy Wednesday! We arrived home last night from our trip to California and I cannot tell you how great it felt to finally sleep in our bed. I feel like a brand new woman… the dogs are feeling all kinds of amazing as well. Lola doesn’t do well in the car and yesterday it got pretty bad. Trembling and panting- it wasn’t pretty. Let’s just say, we’re all happy to be home. Other than tackling email, this girl is set to catch up on sleep and DVR’d shows today. I never, ever get days like this, so to say I’m excited would be a huge understatement (knowing me, I’ll end up regretting it later in the week when I’m playing catch up).
In other news, I’m so excited to talk about my must-have shoes for fall. This may be one of my favorite posts I’ve done in a while (anyone else a shoe person?). All three pairs of shoes are a new style for me, so I’m still experimenting with styling, but I think that helps me give more honest feedback. I’ve been a fan of loafers for a while now, but was hesitant to wear any kind of black flat shoe because of my height (I stick to nude because they help elongate my legs). I finally said, F it, and bought myself a pair of backless loafers. I loved this style so much, I was thinking of getting the Gucci pair, but my size is backordered and I didn’t want to wait until 2017. Anyway, I wear these Steve Madden loafers all the time. I think the fact that they’re backless makes them super flattering (showing off as much leg as possible, helps!). These run TTS and are really comfortable. I like to pair them with cropped denim or pants, but I’m interested in seeing how they work with skirts and dresses.
I’m normally a pointed toe kind of girl, but I was immediately drawn to these ballet flat pumps. I’ve been really into vintage styles lately and these completely give off those vibes. They really look and feel like ballet flats, but just with a heel. I also really love the way they make my feet look. You know how some shoes don’t look that great on, well these are sleek and form fitting, making my feet look all dainty and cute. The block heel is all the rage this season, so if you’re in the market for a pair of pumps, these are great.
Booties are one of my favorite shoes in the fall and winter and I must say, I’m obsessed with the the new(ish) midi bootie. I noticed the trend at the end of last winter, but they’re back and hotter than ever! I happen to really like the style because they pair so well with high waisted vintage style jeans (which you know I’m digging right now). The longer shaft fills in the gap between your boot and jeans, so it’s one seamless look. Normally, I’d only wear booties with skinny jeans, but now I can wear boyfriend and vintage jeans with this new style. These from Steve Madden are quite high, but I love the style! I recently ordered them in black and blue velvet. I’ll probably only end up keeping one, but I’ll see how they work with the rest of my closet.
Stay tuned to see how I’m able to wear these shoes multiple ways and even into winter.
