Dining Room Makeover with West Elm

West Elm Mid-Century Velvet Dining Chair

Happy Tuesday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. If you follow me on Instagram you’ve seen bits of our dining room here and there, but it’s finally done and I’m so excited to share it with you guys. We teamed up with West Elm to bring my vision to life and I’m so happy with how it turned out.

I’m a huge fan of West Elm, so this partnership is kind of a dream come true. I would say our love of mid-century modern is a match made in heaven lol. When we first moved in to our house we focused mainly on the living room. Once we got situated and our new couch was in place (which sits very close to the dining room), I started visualizing the dining room. The whole downstairs living space is open concept, so the rooms have to tie together and flow. One of the hardest things about furnishing a house – waiting until one room comes together to order and buy for the next room. Anyway, other than the striped rug, I had no idea how the dining room would come together. Once I chose the Modern Expandable Dining Table, everything else sort of fell into place. The white lacquer brightens up the space and I love the walnut details. Initially, I wanted the Classic Cafe Upholstered Dining Chairs in Feathered Gray, but they were backordered for months. We ended up with going with the Framework Upholstered Dining Chairs and we love them! The double T back details are so unique and not only are they comfortable, but the quality is amazing. Since our couch and dining chairs are both upholstered gray, I wanted to do velvet chairs for the ends of the table. We went with the Mid-Century Velvet Dining Chairs in Dove Gray and I love the way the different textures add interest to the space. BTW, the velvet dining chairs are incredibly cozy and comfortable. I’m not sure how they’ll do with kids, but lets cross our fingers they stay clean and beautiful. The Mobile Chandelier had been on my wishlist for the longest time. I didn’t want to put it any of our rentals, so now that we finally own a home, it was nice to get this beauty up. The brass ties in with the rest of the space and really makes a statement.

We recently had family over for dinner and we finally felt like real adults with a legitimate dining room setup, ha! I can’t wait to have a larger group over to use the extension on the table.
