Guest Bedroom: Photos & Sources
I mentioned on my Stories last week, but in case you didn’t hear, we’re transforming this room into a playroom. I’m super sad to see the guest room go, but also excited for a functioning space for Harper and a new space to decorate. The guest room has been my favorite room in the house – it gets the BEST light. It’s small but mighty. Read on to hear about my inspiration for the room and links to all the sources.
Wayfair bed frame (we also have this bed in the master bedroom), Crate & Barrel curtain rod, Lulu & Georgia rug, Allswell bedding, Allswell pink throw pillow, West Elm nightstand, Target round mirror, Target sconce (sold out, similar), Anthropologie vase (old, similar), Kendra Scott candle, Rugs USA faux sherpa rug (large version), Treasure & Bond rope throw blanket, Pom Pom at Home blush throw blanket, Urban Outfitters round pillow (old, similar), Faux fiddle leaf fig plant, Ikea striped pillow shams (similar)
The guest room decor process started when I spotted the bed frame. It’s probably my favorite bed frame of all time, like my dream bed frame. It’s simple, but the color and texture are beautiful. I would say, even prettier in-person. To balance out the masculine bed frame, I went with more feminine pieces to complete the space. We had the brass curtain rod left over from our last house, so I decided on a brass nightstand to tie everything together. I opted for a glass nightstand because I didn’t want it to look to clunky and bulky in the small space. The nice thing about a guest room, you don’t have to think about function all that much because no one is really living in the room. That meant, I could have my way with design. I waited for these Target sconces forever. They were sold out at the time, but I didn’t find anything else I liked. Luckily, months later they came back in-stock. I get so many questions about this rug. I love a light rug and I loved that this one had gray mixed in. The texture is also super fun. It’s not a plush rug, as in soft on the feet, but it’s still nice. It does shed quite a bit. All our rugs do, really. I want to say it’s a 6×9 rug.
Because the room is small, we ended up only doing a nightstand and sconce on one side. Instead, we added a faux fiddle leaf fig tree on the other side of the bed frame. The mattress and linens are Allswell. I can’t say enough good things about them. Once we take this room down, we will end up using all the linens in our master bedroom.
This room is super feminine for my style, but I actually really love how it all came together. We’re actually going in a completely different direction for the playroom, so stay tuned for that. I should also mention, I never finished the other wall in this room, which is why you never see it photographed.
