Making the Most of Summer
How are you doing? I haven’t checked in in a while. I hope you’re all well and staying safe. To be honest, I can’t believe it’s June. Time is oddly flying by. As restrictions are slowly lifting, we’re slowly doing more things – seeing family and friends, dining out (we’ve been in one restaurant), and just getting out more. I know this process will look different for everyone, but I have to say, just being able to see family and friends again has made the biggest difference emotionally and mentally.
I haven’t looked too much into what the rest of our summer will look like, but one of the things we’ve been doing that has helped lift our spirits and give us some sense of normalcy has been getting out and picnicking. The weather is slowly getting better in Portland and getting out in nature, sipping a glass of wine, and watching Harper run around has been so special and calming. 2 big things that bring me joy are creating and beauty and with picnics I get to explore both.
The perfect picnic isn’t complete without the perfect outfit. This Banana Republic dress is your ideal summer dress. The white is crisp and bright, but it’s also versatile and comfortable. You can wear it on it’s own, or pair it with a sweater and denim jacket. The ties at the waist are not only flattering, but also functional – I used the belt to help tuck in my sweater. The dress is not lined, but nude undergarments work great. I’m wearing a petite 00 and would say it runs TTS. Barely-there sandals are huge this season and this thong style is super flattering. The minimal style and patent leather allows these to be dressed up or down. They’re comfortable and run TTS.
You guys know how much I love Banana Republic for all their petite styles. If you’re looking to slip into more dresses (and move away from loungewear), check out their selection here. There’s so many great petite options right now.
