Recent Purchases You Should Know About
I’ve recently picked up a few items that have become instant staples, so obviously, I had to share them with you. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen or read about a few these already. The good news, nearly everything is super affordable and on sale.
Janessa Leone Ainsley hat – I had been lusting over Janessa Leone hats for a while. I struggle with finding straw hats that fit my small head, so I thought splurging might work in this department. I’m so glad I did because I’m obsessed! The small (55 cm) fits perfectly and I just love the style. If you’re a hat person, this brand knows what they’re doing.
Ann Taylor Sandals – I saw these a couple weeks ago and had to have them. I love the simple style. They’re chic and look way more expensive than they are. When they arrived I thought they may be uncomfortable, but they’re actually super soft and comfy. Love the black and olive color as well. *Run TTS
Abercrombie & Fitch boyfriend shorts – I bought a pair of A&F denim shorts last year and had been noticing myself gravitating toward them a lot this summer. A couple weeks ago I stopped into the store and came home with another 3 pairs. I have the Low Rise in white and blue and also got the boyfriend, which have a high waist. While these are not the most stylish pairs of denim shorts out there, I love how comfortable they and that they aren’t too short. Keep in mind, I go up 2 sizes for the low rise (wearing a size 2) and went with my normal size for the boyfriend style. For the sale price, these can’t be beat! BTW- I ended up cutting the cuff off the white shorts, which I may end up doing with the blue pair as well.
Madewell cardigan – I wasn’t expecting to love this cardigan as much as I do, but man… I even recently bought the gray version as well. There’s something about the side slits that makes this sweater stand out. The xxs fits nicely – fitted in the shoulders, but oversized and comfy everywhere else. I’ve worn this every other day for 2 weeks straight. I love when a new purchase gets worn a million times in the first week of buying it. If you’re in the market for a nice summer cardigan, this one is on sale with nearly all sizes still in-stock.
Vince Camuto Sandals – These have been one of my favorite purchases this summer. I randomly stumbled upon them while browsing Nordstrom Rack and immediately added them to my cart. The color combination is summer perfection. You can wear them with whites and tans, which is always a bonus with two-toned footwear. While they don’t have any padding or cushion on the soles, they were comfortable right out of the box (no blisters). I am hoping the leather softens up over time. *Run TTS
Rag & Bone straight jeans – Another random, but amazing find from Nordstrom Rack. Again, I wasn’t expecting to love these as much as I do. I’ve had trouble finding straight, high-waisted jeans that are flattering, until these. These are narrow through the hips and thighs, but comfortable at the waist, which is what I’ve always needed. I did have to cut a couple inches off the bottom, so they would hit me above the ankle, but otherwise these jeans are perfection. I went with my normal size and they fit well.
Rag & Bone cropped flare jeans (also here) – I’m pretty sure I’ve talked about these cropped flares on the blog before, but I’ve literally been wearing them non-stop for 2 weeks now. After falling in love with these and the straight jeans above, I think Rag & Bone might be my favorite denim brand. The fit is always spot on and their jeans are super comfortable. I haven’t been able to have true cropped flare jeans because I always end up cutting the bottoms to shorten them. Since the flares on these were originally so large, I was able to cut them without losing all the flare. I would 1000% recommend these if you’re in the market for cropped flare jeans. *Run TTS
Madewell overalls – Unfortunately, I didn’t snap a photo of these (they came in yesterday afternoon). I’m super sad because these overalls are absolutely adorable, but I need a bigger and they’re sold out. I’m only keeping them in this post because some may want to stalk the website just in case they come back in-stock (which Madewell is known for). The fit is a little weird and small, so I would recommend sizing up on or two sizes. I’m normally an xxs in Madewell clothes, but I need a small.
