Weekend Recap 21

Happy Monday, friends! Is it hot enough for you, yet? Not sure if everyone’s going through this massive heat wave (by the looks of Instagram Stories, it seems like many of you are in the same boat), but man, it’s killer. Not only has it been in the 90’s (which always feels 10 degrees hotter in Oregon), but there’s been wind, which feels like you’re suffocating. Thankfully, we spent most of the weekend indoors in the cool AC. We also celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary last Monday. We’re so bad at celebrating special moments/days like this… Mike made dinner reservations at Departure, but I wasn’t feeling well, so we postponed it. Maybe one of these days we’ll go on a trip or something, lol.

Friday started out in a bit of a rush. We needed to shoot photos downtown, but we also had dog training, so we were up bright and early to tackle the day. It was actually a blessing we got our work done early considering it was 90 degrees in the afternoon. Dog training has been going well. They’re sleeping in their own beds, eating at the same times (twice a day), and now learning about their “spots” downstairs and getting tethered while eating and having bones and treat balls. This last session was all about walking on a leash. A working walk and a more leisure walk. Riley seems to be really into the working walk (treats involved), while Lola is just straight up confused, lol.  It’s been a lot of work, but I’m really hoping it pays off. Does anyone else have experience with dog training? We ended the night with a family dinner at Sharky’s (a healthy Mexican spot). Their strawberry agua fresca is amazing!

Saturday we took things easy. I worked in the morning, we hit the gym before lunch, and then Mike went to a ping pong party and the girls went to see Wonder Woman. There’s been so much hype for the movie, and I must say, it wasn’t my cup of tea. I mean, it was good, but I guess I didn’t get what all the hype was about. It was your typical superhero movie… was it because it was a woman? Has anyone else seen it? Would love to hear your thoughts.

Sunday we got the dogs out of the house early for a morning walk. I say early, but it was still 82 degrees and I was immediately sweating. I don’t know who’s worse off on these walks, the people or the dogs. I got some work done in the morning and then we headed to Korean food for lunch. It’s probably not the food you think of when it’s so hot outside, but thankfully the AC saved us. A craving is a craving, right? The rest of the day was spent lounging around, organizing my walk-in, and doing laundry (the fun stuff). We have a busy week ahead, so I’m taking the slow days for what they are.

How was your weekend?
