What to Wear to a Business Formal Holiday Party

I’m not going to lie, I had to look up “business formal” before creating and shopping for this post. I have never worked in a business formal environment, so this post is a little out of my comfort zone. But, you guys asked, so here it is! I think I could have easily gotten away with dressing a little more festive, but decided to stay a little more conservative. Plus, I thought the champagne could do all the taking ;)

Business formal is all about a two piece suit, dress, or skirt. It’s probably the most conservative style of them all. I opted for a sequin top, tuxedo blazer, and black trousers. Again, I think this is more on the safe side – I think a bold red suit could have been fun, especially for me. In general though, I would take your traditional business formal styles up a notch for the holidays. If you work in this environment, you know what works – blazers, trousers, blouses, long skirts – and than choose pieces that are more festive without being showy. I’m sharing more fun options below.
