5 Classic Outfits to Wear this Spring

I was in a complete style rut coming out of postpartum. The idea of getting dressed was really daunting. It sounds so silly, but when you haven’t worn your clothes in 9 months, you almost forget how to put outfits together. Once I was able to fit back into my jeans, I had this “ah ha moment” sort of and really started to focus more on a modified capsule wardrobe. Really getting back to the basics. I really do do better with less and I wanted to simplify my style. I’m excited to see where this takes me for spring and summer.

Spring and summer are the toughest seasons for me when it comes to putting outfits together. I fall into the same patterns of reaching for the same denim shorts or embroidered tops. This year, I’m committed to changing that and I hope sticking to simple classics will help. I recently picked up a few things from Nordstrom and paired them with a few of my favorite existing pieces (from Nordstrom) to create 5 classic outfits to wear this spring. At the end of the day, when you stick to the classics, you’ll always look pulled together. And when you’re coming out of a style rut, this is exactly what you need.

Madewell Tomboy Jeans 23 (size down) – These are one of my favorite pairs of jeans of all time. They’re so incredibly comfortable and I love the way they fit. Make sure you size down. They’re a high-rise, but not over high. I did cut the hems on mine.

Anine Bing Shirt xs – I’ve been on the hunt for a blue shirt to wear this spring and summer and this is a great oversized option. Material is quite thick, so not flimsy at all. The arm length does run short, something to keep in mind. Great for petites, but not sure for everyone else. Although, I do think they’re meant to be rolled up. It runs quite oversized, too.

Gucci Mules 35 – These are an absolute classic! Elevate any look and run TTS.

AGOLDE Parker Long Loose Shorts 24 – I wanted to try a longer pair of shorts and I went with the these since they’re the long version of my favorite denim shorts of all time. The length isn’t overwhelming on my petite frame, but the longer length does take some time to get used to. I wonder if they would look a little better if I cut them just a tad bit. But, they’re SUPER comfortable and the denim feels like great quality.

Birkenstock Sandals 35 – I’ve had these for 2 years now and I’m still breaking them in. I didn’t realize these weren’t the SOFT Birks (those are here). I love the classic style, though. These are classic and can be worn with just about everything!

AGOLDE Riley Jeans 24 – I’ve only recently tried 3 pairs of Riley jeans and I’m obsessed! I don’t know why it’s taken me this long. These are the PERFECT vintage wash and I love the fit. They have a cropped fit, so they hit me right at the ankle. They’re button fly, but overall I would say the fit is great and TTS. My normal size isn’t overly tight in the waist which I like.

Loewe Tote Medium (small linked)- I’ve had my tote for 2 years now and it’s a classic. The medium size is perfect for petites – it carries SO much.

Special thank you to Nordstrom for partnering on this post.
