Dressing Room Diaries
Another post in the Dressing Room Diaries Series is here! I’m so excited to share tons of new spring styles with you. Let me know if there’s certain trends or styles you want to see me try on.
Chelsea28 Ruffle Blouse (xs) – Another beautiful blouse from Chelsea 28. It’s extremely sheer, but as you can tell in the photos, I think you could get away with wearing a nude bra (although a nude cami would work too). Very feminine, but versatile enough to wear out or even to the office. Love all the details, but especially the tie back detail in the back. It appears to be sold out in xxs online, otherwise I would have snagged it.
Gibson Convertible Neckline Cozy Fleece Tunic (xs) – This tunic is incredibly soft and comfortable. I don’t typically wear tunics, but this was SO soft and cozy, I could see myself lounging around in it at home. It ran pretty big on me, but it does appear to come in petite sizes online. It comes in multiple neutral colors and can be worn off-the-shoulder or as a cowl neck. If you’re a tunic kinda gal, this one is amazing.
Bobeau Cold Shoulder Blouse (xs) – Had high hopes for this one. Classic navy stripes with cold shoulder details, perfect for spring. Sadly, it ran big and the material was extremely thin making it pretty shapeless.
Hinge Lace Top (xs) – A gorgeous lace top that appears to be more of a fitted style. I’m wearing an xs and everything fits but the arm length. You may want to size up for a looser fit. I found it online in an xxs and thinking about ordering it. A great spring to summer top that can be dressed up or down and since it’s white, it will pair well with many colors (high waisted light jeans, denim cutt-offs, black trousers, etc.) It’s fairly sheer, but I’m wearing a nude bra here and appears to be okay. You could easily wear either a nude or white cami under as well.
Leith Satin T-Back Camisole (s) – The color of this camisole is gorgeous! Perfect neutral to add to your spring wardrobe. They didn’t have an xs, so I tried on the small, which as you can tell from the photos was really big. I didn’t love the material either (not silky, but weirdly stiff).
J.O. A High Rise Tweed Shorts ( xs) – These shorts are amazing. Great length, super comfortable and I love the fringe details. They have a side zipper and fit high waisted. The only reason I didn’t get them – I don’t think I’ll be wearing shorts for a very long time… although when something fits that well, I’m always tempted to just get it. Perfect shorts for spring and summer.
Sanctuary Gingham Off the Shoulder Top (xs, can’t find this exact one, so linking to a similar option from same brand) – I’m not normally a gingham person, but I love this top. It has flare sleeves and sits on my shoulders well. The material is soft and comfy, but appears it may wrinkle really easily. I wish it came in an xxs… A fun print and style for spring and summer. Pairs well with black jeans and denim shorts.
Sanctuary ‘Peace Trooper’ Crop Cargo Pants (25) – I adore these cargo pants. I’ve been on the search for the perfect cargo pants for years and these are pretty close. Size 24 is sold out company wide, so I’m going to try to hunt them down elsewhere. Despite being a cropped fit, they hit right at my ankle, making them the perfect length on me. I would say they’re cuter in-person, so don’t let the photo online fool you. They’ll pair well with a denim jacket in the spring and can even be dressed up with a black blouse / cami in the summer.
Ro & De Ruffle Cold Shoulder Sweatshirt (xs) – This is such a fun sweatshirt. The cold shoulder and ruffle detail are the perfect feminine touch to a basic sweatshirt. Sadly, it ran big, otherwise I would have snagged it. Would have worn it with cropped flares and loafers or distressed skinny jeans and pumps.
Abercrombie & Fitch Twill Shirt Jacket (xs) – I spotted this jacket online a couple weeks ago and had to try it on. I love the style, structure, and color – it’s stylish, but still classic. The sleeves run long, which was expected, but overall the fit is nice. Roomy, but still fitted and structured. Just when I thought I was over military jackets, they’re all the rage this year. This jacket comes in 8 colors on their website… I may need to snag the camo one!
Abercrombie & Fitch Denim Shortalls (xs) – I never thought I’d be trying on overalls, but I must admit, I don’t hate them. The xs fit really well (which means they may run small for everyone else). I love the wash and how basic and simple the shape is. I’m still not 100% sure how I feel about overalls, so I passed, but I found a cropped flare pair on their website and I’m obsessing over them. Shortalls seem very young to me, but overalls can definitely be chic if worn the right way.
Abercrombie & Fitch Off-the-Shoulder Sweater (xs) – Off-the-shoulder and bell sleeves, obviously I had to try this on. The xs fit pretty well. I love that the bell sleeves are shorter in the front and longer in the back, so you get the effect of the flare while still being functional. The cream color is perfect for spring and summer. Pair it with dark wash denim cropped flares (or white), or a button-front denim skirt. Stay tuned to see how I style it on the blog.
Abercrombie & Fitch Faux Fur Vest (xs) – I had heard from Jean of Extra Petite that this vest was very petite-friendly and I’m happy to report it is. I’m wearing an xs and it fits pretty snug over my sweater. The length is great and and the overall fit is not overwhelming (faux fur can be a lot sometimes). Although it’s on sale, I decided not to get it because I wasn’t sure how much wear I would get out of it. Not necessarily because we’re headed into spring (I could wear it next year), I’m just not sure I’m a faux fur vest kind of person. It’s currently on sale for $30 for those of you in the market for one.
Abercrombie & Fitch ruffle romper (xs) – This romper is so pretty. Sexy and feminine, but paired with the right accessories could work for anyone. It runs large on me, but it appears it comes in petite sizes online. The deep v-neck runs really low, so keep that in mind. Perhaps the petite sizes may help with this, but you could always pin it. It’s lined at the front bodice and shorts and has pockets (which is always a bonus). I would pair it with gladiator sandals and a denim jacket to toughen it up a bit.
Abercrombie & Fitch Off-the-Shoulder Poplin Top (xs) – Another gingham top that caught my eye. I just adore the flare sleeves, buttons, print, and color. It runs a bit wide, but tucking in parts of the shirt helps. As with most OTS tops, the sleeves tend to ride up while moving around, but it’s a battle that’s worth it lol. A super cute top to wear in the spring and summer… Love it paired with white cropped flares and platform sneakers.
Abercrombie & Fitch High Rise Girlfriend Jeans (24) – I’ve been trying on high-waisted light wash jeans a lot lately (so perfect for spring and summer). These are the girlfriend jeans, which are supposed to fit tighter than boyfriends. The legs and hips still run wide for my liking, but I love the wash and distressing. I will say, A&F makes the best distressed jeans. I don’t find their jeans very petite-friendly, but for everyone else, they’re a great affordable option.
