This Month’s Favorites: February

Sam Edelman Reesa booties – I had been lusting over a designer pair of Chelsea boots for years. The color, the shape, the heel – everything was perfect. I wasn’t ready to shell out $600 for them, so when I spotted the very similar Sam Edelman Ressa booties, I knew I had to give them a try. They’re more brown in-person than they appear online, but everything else about them is perfection. They’re slimming, fit well, and I love the panel detailing on the sides. The almond shaped toe was another added bonus. They fit my feet pretty snug (and I’m a small 5), so I can imagine them running slightly small and tight. I read other reviewers mention they couldn’t get the boots on or off. You may want to size up. In general though, I’m obsessed! I will be wearing these for as long as weather permits (not sure I’m a booties girl in 90 degree heat lol).

Sigma Spa Express Brush Cleaning Mat

Sigma Spa Express Brush Cleaning Mat – Mike got me this cleaning mat for Christmas, but I only started using it recently. First of all, I’m terrible at cleaning my makeup brushes, so the idea of this got me really excited. Let’s just say it’s a game changer. Super easy to clean brushes and there’s no makeup residue left over. The different textures really help clean different types of brushes. My mat has stayed pretty clean thus far. Brilliant concept and it makes cleaning your brushes fun. Definitely worth the $25!

MAC In Extreme Dimension Lash Mascara
Zara embossed ankle booties

MAC In Extreme Dimension Lash Mascara – I wouldn’t say I’ve tried on a ton of higher end brands when it comes to mascaras, but I’ve tried my fair share of mascaras in general. I got this In Extreme Dimension Lash mascara in the MAC Look In A Box last month and I’m super impressed (which btw, the blush and highlighter are awesome!). I’ve tried MAC mascara in the past and didn’t think it was all that great. This one is different though. It’s super black and gives great volume and length. The brush is small with tiny bristles, which helps you get every single lash. I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks now, so we’ll see how well it holds up. $23 isn’t super affordable for mascara, but, the results have been worth it. I have tiny eyelashes and this mascara does wonders to them.

Zara Embossed Boots – I wouldn’t normally put 2 pairs of booties in my Monthly Favorites, but after wearing these for weeks straight, I figured you needed to know about them. I don’t know if it’s the shape or the texture (or both), but I love these booties with just about everything in my closet. They’re ridiculously chic and elevate any look. They don’t have any added cushion in the soles, but they’re comfortable right out of the box. No issues getting your foot in and out and the rear pull tab is functional and helpful. If you’re looking for black booties, these are awesome at a great price.

Aveda Hand Relief moisturizing creme

Aveda Hand Relief Moisturizing Creme – I was sent the Hand Relief lotion from Aveda a couple months ago. I had been needing an on-the-go moisturizer for a while (my hands get so dry in the winter), so I threw it in my purse not thinking too much about it. After using it several times, I started to notice how amazing it was. I’m really picky about my lotions. If they’re too greasy, I can’t handle it and if they’re too fragrant, it’s a no go. This one is super thick and moisturizing without being greasy. It’s honestly saved my hands this winter. The other day on the way to the gym, my ankles were ashy. I put some of this lotion on them and it was night and day. No joke, I may end up putting this hand cream on my legs once it becomes shorts season. It’s that good!
